DON'T USE THEM!

This is about One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning out of Sierra Vista, AZ. Their serviceman Casey ended up storming out of my house after REMOVING the new part he just installed, screaming and cursing at me and cursing around my kids. In my opinion he is arrogant, ignorant about proper HVAC installation, a chauvinistic braggart, and completely unprofessional. This WOULD just be a rant about the serviceman except that the owner apparently condones his behavior because they did not follow through remedying the situation, but only offered apologies for his behavior. I called for service because our heater was cycling on and off repeatedly. Casey responded that morning, and immediately began pitching a replacement sale. I stopped him, told him we couldn’t afford it right now, and to just diagnose and fix the problem if he could. It was a fan switch, and needed to be ordered from Tucson. He checked the other parts and found them in good working order. While doing so, he again started in on a sales pitch about getting a new heat pump/AC system. To be polite, I let him continue and then asked him about the ductwork in a manufactured home being compatible with a new outdoor package system. I admit, this was a trick question to evaluate his knowledge and honesty. He immediately said there would be no problem, that I didn’t need any modifications to our ductwork, that he had done dozens of these, etc. He said this without calculating load, counting registers, considering air return requirements, measuring ductwork, etc. He also “guaranteed” that our electric bill would be less with a central heat/air unit installed by them (heat pump system) than the swamp coolers that we currently have. Right here is where I lost respect for him, because of these outlandish, slick-willy claims and either obvious lack of knowledge or outright deceitful statements. He quoted a range of $7k-$10k (quite the range there!) and I repeated that we weren’t in market for it. He said they would call me when part was in and “put me back on the schedule” to install it.Friday, Casey did showed up. He knocked on the side of my house instead of my door, then got indignant that I hadn’t heard him. He installed the part, and then threw a fit over a fraction of a finishing nail that was sticking out of the trim around the furnace door. He went on and on about it, even though he hadn’t hurt himself or snagged his clothes. I then asked questions about the new switch and was trying to confirm that this was going to solve the problem. He retorted, “Well if it doesn’t work, then you just need a new system.” I asked him to explain that statement. He pointed to the exterior rust on the exchanger and said “because of that.” Now, he had previously said the exchanger was in working order and no problems were found. I asked what an electrical fan switch had to do with rust on the outside of the exchanger. I said I didn’t understand that correlation. He got flustered and said, “Well that’s why you call us, because we know these things and you don’t.” I said that didn’t make sense, and he blew up. He said “DO you want me to just take my part and leave?!?” Now remember, the new switch was ALREADY INSTALLED. I said, “Really? You are going to get all arrogant like that?” He proceeded to start screaming at me, saying I was rude and had been rude from the beginning, that this was crap, that he got no respect, that he was taking his switch and leaving, that he had the right to refuse service to anyone, etc. I stepped in...

Keep up good work

Had a wonderful experience with One Hour. They took the time to educate us on what was available in a new system. Not the cheapest but well worth the guarantees the offer. I wasn't looking for cheap in my home but value

High Integrity

Was on time for appt. Professional attitude. Diagnosed problem and suggested ways could be fixed. Work was done neatly. I didn't have to clean up after him. Clean appearance. Reasonably priced.

On time just like the ad said

Showed up on time the guy had been doing this job for along time, I could tell from the gray hair. Another company had been here twice for the same problem. This guy fixed it the first time and it stayed fixed.

Dishonest and Overpriced

This company deceives consumers who are in need of help. Their tactics are high pressure, and they badger customers into agreeing to the overpriced charges. The technician who came out LIED about previous employment with a reputable company in town, indicating he knew about their pricing. Also said One Hour was "competitive", which, at close to double the price of more reputable companies, is not competitive at all. He went against the corporate ethics policy in his actions. DON"T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE FOLKS. They are readily available at any time because I think most people have caught on to their unethical practices.

Unprofessional, unrealiable and does not uphold the contract

Completely unhappy with service and support after purchasing two units from this company, Terribly unprofessional office staff, technicians and owner. Contract is not upheld once signed. Install left holes in walls and technicians said to read the instructions to figure out how to program (that's the service provided after paying over $15K). No service since install 8 months ago. Paid for units to be serviced every 3 months. Office staff says the sales person didn't understand the contract and that's not what it says. Also paid for two other homes in town to be services. One unit was broken by technician during winter check. Paid another company almost $200 to repair. The other unit broke down weeks after they coonducted winter check and the office staff tried to charge me for the service call (which is covered under the contract I paid for) to provide an estimate. Rather than provide an estimate, the technician completed the work and called to say I owed $250+. When I explained I only asked for an estimate, he said he'd call my tenants to say I was refusing to pay if I didn't pay. I called the owner to discuss this and all the other serice and contacto related issues. After considerable disagreement, he said they had some issues with their contacts that he was looking into and he wouldn't charge me for the repair they were not authorized to do and ended the call. I've never heard back from him or any of his staff on the outstanding issues. I do not recommend this company for new install or service. They aren't trust worthy, are very unprofessional and completely unreliable.

One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating sent out advertising flyers for discounted furnace servicing (about $80, don't recall the exact amount). We decided we should have our furnace serviced, so we scheduled an appointment. The service man showed up at the door with nothing in his hand but a rag (no tools whatsoever). He went to the furnace and wiped down a few places, then said we needed a new furnace and tried to sell us one. When we said we didn't want a new furnace, he wiped down a few more things with his rag and charged us $80 for servicing our furnace! When we pointed out that he didn't service anything and didn't even bring in any tools, he said he couldn't do anything because the furnace was old. He said he could reduce the "service" charge to about $50. We paid him so he would leave (we were so angry), but in hindsight, we shouldn't have paid him at all. One Hour has demonstrated to us that they clearly lack ethics and integrity in their business dealings. Bait & switch.
