The catfish are excellent. Fresh and beautifully fried. The fresh cut french fried potatoes perfectly cooked and delicious. Loved the sweet pickles, but the dills were sour sour sour. Yuk.

Service was nice, but I ordered a cocktail, we both did, and asked the waitress to hold off on the food for awhile so that we could enjoy the view and our drinks. One sip and here came the food. The waitress appeared frantic and harried as if she did not know how to proceed.

The drinks were watered down versions of what we expect in a cocktail and high in price. Would not order drinks again.

View is beautiful as it always was.

Husband got a steak. I got the all you can eat fried catfish. His food was fine, but not outstanding. They gave me 3 pieces of catfish. I took a bit of my husbands steak. It was ok. Not great. I gave him one piece of my 3 pieces of catfish. The waitress looked horrified. I did not ask for more fish so I do not know why I could not let my hubby try some of it. And really, three pieces is what THEY call all you can eat.

We ordered 4 pieces of their pie to go so that we could try the different pies. They were ok, but not outstanding and certainly not worth the money.

We have not been back and probably won't go back unless they change a few things. Add a senior platter. Give you more than three pieces of fish if you order all you can eat. Maybe have a 2 piece senior platter, for $12, a 3 piece for $14 and a 4 piece for $16. And allow people to carry home what is left. They never ever seem to bring you more than the three pieces of fish from what I have heard, even if you ask, and sit waiting for half an hour.

And an older couple I heard of ordered all you can eat, received their three pieces of fish, ate one each and asked for a take out box and were told not on all you can eat orders. They were shocked as were the other older couple with them. I think it is a shame, I could understand them not allowing take out boxes had the order been a dozen pieces of fish as most places are when you order all you can eat. But honestly, 3 pieces and then let 2 pieces go to waste. That is a shame. The couples could have enjoyed the take home box a lot the next day and they had PAID for that amount for sure.

Frankly I am surprised the place is still open. They may be doing ok, but they are so far out of the way and with sad drinks and poor service and we heard one man sent back a steak because it was terrible. Fatty and gristle and rubbery. And he said he was not paying for that. And the police were called by the management. Yes I think the people that run the place are not the people that should run the place.

The 5 stars I gave the place was for the catfish and the french fries.

The one star for lousey drinks, ridiculous service that is way too rushed and terrible customer/owner whatever you call it. The place could have been a landmark as was Cross Lake Inn, but just go not think these people will cut it. Time will tell. And we will occasionally look/see what----.
