3 Mountains was selected by my home warranty provider to replace a leaky water heater. The plumber claimed he had to do more work than was necessary to complete the job. The old heater was not up to code, so the plumber said needed to raise it about 14 inches. To do so, he claimed he needed to rip in to my wall to move the water fixtures. He quoted me a price and then I asked him to leave so I could call around and get other estimates. The work to bring the heater up to code was not covered by my warranty. Other plumbers said it was not necessary to tear in to the wall, but 90 degree elbows could be installed outside the wall to achieve the same thing. I wanted to use my home warranty to take care of this, so I called 3 MTS back and instructed the guy not to rip in to my wall. He agreed that the work could be done outside the wall, said it would be easier, and said it would be cheaper than the original quote. Good news, I though...



Then he took his time installing it. He charged way too much for the parts used. When he was finished, I looked at the new heater and saw that it was leaking... He said he would need to drain it again and replace the fixture on the bottom. He blamed the water heater manufacturer for the faulty unit (Later I called the manufacturer and they said this rarely happens. According to the plumber, it was common). After doing the work, he presents me with a bill for more than the original estimate including charges to FIX THE NEW WATER HEATER!! I told him I'm not paying him to fix the heater he picked out for me that was supposed to be new. After arguing my case, he agreed to only bill me the cost from the original estimate. Unhappy it wasn't cheaper like he told me it would be, I paid.



Not even 1 week later, the "new" water heater is leaking again.



STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! THEY ARE CROOKS!
