Provided by YP.comMy husband just had surgery on 7/16/2013 and had to stay overnight for observation. This was our first experience with this hospital and hopefully the last at this location. When my husband was called back to get ready for surgery, they would not allow me to go with him. They said we will come get you after he is ready. After almost an hour, I inquired why it was taking so long. They just stated they will let you see him after they call for you. At this point I called my husband's cell phone and one of the doctors was talking with him about the procedure and after care. As I am the one who is taking care of him after, I should have been aloud to be in the room by that point. Once I complained at that point, they finally took me back. The doctor, who was done, had to start back over from the beginning. The surgeon had already seen him prior to the surgery case before his. I had a couple of questions that I had previously planned on asking her before the surgery. This doctor had to make another trip back to the room to go over everything again and to answer questions. I have had six surgeries at Methodist Willowbrook and Methodist in the medical center. My husband was aloud to be by my side until they took me back for surgery until I woke up after.
I do have to say that Linda, an RN, saw I was very upset in my husband's room and came in and talked with us. She gave me a hug and told me he was going to be ok and told us a joke to get us laughing. Linda also walked around keeping everyone in the waiting room informed of the status of the person they were waiting on in surgery and post-op until the people waiting could go back to see their loved one. I feel this sweet lady went above and beyond. She was so upbeat, sweet and cheerful.
My husband had to stay overnight for observation in the ERU (extended recovery unit). The nurses were good in this unit. The care from this point until he was discharged was very good.
My biggest disappointment was the service prior to surgery. This hospital should go visit Methodist hospitals to see how the pre-surgery should be handled.
Our daughter-in-law will be delivering our first grandchild at this hospital in December. I just hope she and our granddaughter received decent care and they allow our son to be by her side the entire time.

Provided by YP.comAbsolutely the best surgical experience I ever had. Dr Grieco and his team were wonderful! All the staff were wonderful from pre-admitting to wheeling me out the door. Thank You! Frank Hartmann
