This caterer (Terry Bland) looks at consumers/customers as $ - not real people. I was supposed to be getting married on 9/18/2011. I signed a "draft" proposal on 3/10 - 25% check cleared on 3/14 for over $1000 - 6 months away from the wedding. Cancelled a few days later due to a new job offer. Clause 9 of the Art Catering contact states that cancellations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Terry Bland from Art Catering did not give me the time of day after she got my money. She never sent me an invoice as to why she felt she could keep even half (she originally offered a 50/50 split of the refund when I cancelled my wedding due to the new job supporting another state (as to why I asked for an invoice of time actually spent on the 3-paged canned proposal sent to me from Art Catering, as with it being so far in advance (over 6 months out), no food had been purchased). Results of choosing this caterer: Because Terry Bland refused any form of discussion after the follow-up call of my cancellation - I filed a Civil Court action against her. I lost because I signed the "draft" proposal (also she had a brash attorney). Lessons learned - don't sign anything with this caterer unless you know that your wedding (and any form of contractual obligation with Art Catering) will have NO life altering issues occur, as you won't get any empathy or consideration from this caterer! The level of integrity, on considering cancellations fairly, in my opinion, is lacking. I can honestly say I regret ever thinking about working with Terry Bland from Art Catering and after losing money for nothing, I hope that my opinions will at least be heard as there is not a day that passes that I don't get sick to my stomach on such a loss. PLEASE don't be like me - find a caterer who is professional and considerate and one that you know you can trust.
