Mammoth was founded in 1935 when the Brown Sheet Iron and Steel Company opened its doors and began manufacturing industrial-gravity and forced-air furnaces in an old brownstone building in St. Louis Park, Minn. The company had a modest beginning, but an explosive expansion took place during World War II, when Brown became the supplier of the largest industrial furnace on the market.
