Canoga Perkins offers a full range of fiber optic solutions for data communications companies throughout the world. Its products include: fiber optic modems for a variety of interfaces and data rates; multiplexers; capacities and interfaces; videoconferencing equipment; and LAN products that provide long distance LAN extension up to 100 kilometers. Canoga Perkins was founded in 1965 as Perkins Research & Manufacturing. It began by specializing in outside plant telephone test equipment. The product line was later expanded to include digital transmission test equipment. Canoga Data Systems was added to Perkins Research & Manufacturing in 1977 as a division to specialize in fiber optic modems and multiplexers for the data communications environment. The two entities were combined in October 1985 to form Canoga Perkins Corporation. Canoga Perkins holds the distinction of producing the industry s first single mode Ethernet LAN extension system in 1986.
