I moved here from NYC in Sept. of last year, and Dr. Robert Maughon has been my PCP since I got here. I am epileptic, so customer service/support/help is imperative for me... He is truly the best doctor I have ever seen. He is always more than happy to discuss however I am feeling, never rushes, always helps me to find the "solution" as I am trying to get off of pills altogether... No matter what the issue, he has always been supportive and wonderful. ALSO, I absolutely LOVE the receptionist, Lindy Gerow... I have been seeing her since my first visit, as well, and she is always unbelievably kind, patient, and helpful, and just couldn't be better at her job!!! Having this condition is extremely difficult, but having such phenomenal assistance really makes all of the difference. I couldn't love this place more!

I can not begin to express my complete disgust with this establishment. My husband was feeling ill and he called to make sure they took our insurance. It was around 5:00pm when he called. I had just gotten back from taking my 11 month old to the pediatrician and was driving from Sevierville back to Gatlinburg to pick him up to take him.

When I got home and made double sure he checked the hours. He said they closed at 7:00pm. So we drove through Pigeon Forge's heavy traffic to MD Express. When we arrived It was 6:05pm. We walked in and the receptionist exclaimed that they stop taking people after 6:00. I was absolutely furious. Was it too hard to tell my husband that over the phone? Why does this establisment say they are open until 7:00pm. If you stop taking people at 6:00pm then you close at 6:00pm. The receptionist who showed 0 sincerity or remorse said, "If we still took people up until 7:00pm then we wouldn't get out until 8:00pm." Well boo hoo! When a restaurant closes at 10 you can walk in 10 mins til and get sat. Yes it is rude, but the fact is being open means that up until that time you can walk in and get taken care of. How is anyone supposed to know that they stop taking people after 6:00pm? And the fact that we were so upset and it was only 5mins after is the most infuriating part. She fluttered her eyelashes and said, "We open at 9:00am tomorrow." Oh, okay that really helps us right now after driving all the way from Gatlinburg through traffic.

Disgusting.

wonderful!

I recently went to md express with an abcessed tooth that had made my face swell to the size of a tennis ball. I didnt want to sit in the ER for hours and wait. So since i far away from home on vacation i asked the hotel staff where i should go and they referred me to AM PM ER down in pigeon forge but warned me they didnt take any insurance. Luckily they were closed so on my travels back i noticed MD express sign! The nurse ashley was so very friendly and helpful. Then the doctor came in and was the same! He didn't treat me like i was jusst someone he had to speak with quickly and the move on like most Dr.s now a days do. He actually took his time with me and got to know me and asked about my family situation to make sure the medicine he was perscribing would not affect me being able to take care of my children. I was extremely impressed and wish i had an office like this back home to have as a primary care physician! Even though i was far from my dentist, MD express saved my vacation and hours of my time not sitting in the emergency room! This doctor turned a terrible experience into something pleasant. I would recommend md express to anyone that needs a walk-in doctor.

This place is horrible! I took...

This place is horrible! I took my daughter here when she was sick, paid my co-pay and I was on my way. Months later, I received a bill for the remaining amount (that was supposed to be covered by my insurance), and when I called to see why I was receiving a bill, they said they filled it wrong and they would re-file it correclty. I offered to pay the bill just to have it out of my hair, but I was told not to worry about it becasue it would be taken care of.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks later, and I'm receiving phone calls from a collection agency asking me why i hadn't paid my bill! When I called MD Express to ask them why I was turned in, the only response I got was "Oh, well we were bought out and the new owners said to send everyone in to collections becasue they didn't want to deal with the bookkeeping."

This is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!! They told me to pay my bill or it would go on my credit as unpaid. So I give them all of my information to pay my bill and I am told that they can't give me a confirmation right now, but it would be paid. So now, 2 WEEKS LATER, I get yet ANOTHER phone call from thsi company telling me to pay my bill!!! I now have to call my bank and hot card my card becasue it has been compromised by god knows whoever has my card number, I have turned into collections and have to file a dispute with the credit bureaus, and I've now spent countless hours on the phone trying to fix this and worrying about the long term damage this is going to cause!!!!!

I will NEVER allow anyone I know to go there!!!!

The physician at MD Express took care of my husband last week while we were on vacation in Pigeon Forge. We were taken back immediately by friendly caring staff. I was pleasantly surprised to know we were able to get labs and x-rays right there! I cannot say enough about the staff physician. It was obvious he was very knowledgeable and experienced. We were delighted with the treatment my husband received and we wish we had a doctor back home like this where we live. Congratulations to the Sevierville area for a new state of the art facility with the highest of excellence in a medical provider!

I have been to this clinic twice now. Once during the Summer and once this past week. I have had great experiences both times. The customer service was great, the place was very clean and Dr. Fortich was great as well. The first time I went, I did not have insurance and I couldn't afford healthcare. They told me what their fees were and it was nothing compared to what a real doctor would be. I was able to pay their fees and it didn't hurt my finances as much as the emergency room would of. I am not sure why people are complaining about this place, but I have had great experiences on both of the times that I went. I live in Sevierville and recommend this place to family and friends and they have also loved this office as much as I have. THANK YOU DR. FORTICH AND STAFF!!!

I just wanted to add a comment about this Dr. Fortich. I worked with this Doctor in the ER at a nearby hospital and he was wonderful. He was very good with patients and always was very knowledgeble about the situation. I now work at another medical office and I had a patient come in yesterday speaking of Dr. Fortich. He loved him said he was very nice and wanted him to be his permenant Doctor. Just thought I would add this to these so called reviews where they just want to talk about his attitude.

I love Dr. Fortich!!! On Saturday, my daughter was stepped on by a horse. Dr. Fortich showed great compassion and expertise in dealing with the injury and the scared mom and daughter. I was overwhelmed the following day (a Sunday!) when he inquired about her and her foot. I am so glad to have a highly educated and experienced doctor in East TN that I know will treat a patient kindly and correctly. I highly recommend MD Express!!!

Stay away! This is the absolu...

Stay away! This is the absolute worst health care facility I have ever encountered. The nurse practitioner looked up skin conditions on her cellphone on Wikipedia instead of a medical resource and misdiagnosed the condition. Then she advised my family member to purchase a nail clipper with a tool on it to dig into an infected abscess around his toe nail himself.

Two days later, the patient went to another urgent care facility and was correctly diagnosed, given steroids to cure the skin itching and antibiotics for the infection. He was also advised he should NOT dig into infected abscesses- the doctor would not even work on it until the antibiotics were administered for several days.

I attempted to contact the center to give them the opportunity to investigate and try to correct or defend the situation. The email on their website is not valid and after calling the clinic I was told they had changed it. I wonder if they were getting too many complaint emails? I was then given an individual's email address which did not bounce back but I have still not had a response.

Yep. That's the new MD Express...

Yep. That's the new MD Express office on the parkway across from Tanger Outlet. A real treat in RUDENESS they all are there. They act as if you're there just to take their orders! The word locally is this new doctor there is from New York and acts like quite the arrogant terd. Thinks he's a little god-doctor! You know, one of those little arrogant know-it-all doctors dressed in his pressed white coat and all that. They treat you at this MD Express trap like a dog, we've noticed. We'll never go back there again. You'll get better care if you go to the more experienced doctor at the AMPMER just a few miles on down the road in Pigeon Forge. Take light #3 there and go down by the catholic church on the right. Their paperwork is a bit thorough, but the doctor at this clinic is the real deal. He has the experience and knowledge to take care of just about anything, which is a nice talent to have we all thought on our first few trips in there. (The paperwork gets much much easier once you have a chart on file at this office, too.) Apparently, this AMPMER doctor spent decades working in hospital emergency rooms and his walls show pictures of him on mission trips to Haiti, so he knows the ropes on how to treat patients like people not dogs. My wife thought the doctor at the AMPMER was the most thorough and compassionate doctor she'd ever seen. Pigeon Forge has something to be proud of at this AMPMER clinic location, and we thought we needed to help folks from out of town find the few places in town where you can get reliable honest thorough Southern excellent care. Unfortunately, the locations where you can get this are fewer and fewer these days with all the nurses and PA's taking over most clinics, not to mention what you experienced from that idiot at the MD Express trap across from Tanger Outlet mall. That guy is a little "Northern" Napoleon in a box! Sorry you had to experience that in our town. AVOID that MD EXPRESS like the plague by all means!

Dear Dr. Smith, Could you please stop bringing shame to your profession by placing these fake reviews slandering another physician & attempting to promote yourself. It is unprofessional & does not affect our business. But this fake review you used to respond to a review placed by great group of young men who have been helped by MD Express. That is just going way to far when you attack an innocent group of teenagers trying just to express appreciation. Shame on you!

I just experienced a very rude arrogant gentleman by phone this evening and now I'm wondering if it was the Dr you speak of. He answered the phone by saying "Doctor`s office". I then asked if I had called MD express. He very rudely said "What is your name??... Do you need a doctor???" Sooooooo I ask again Is this MD Express on the Parkway. For some reason he doen't want to answer my question and continues to ask questions in his condesending tone. I ended the call by saying they needed to work on their customer service and I would just call another clinic. He says in return "You should call another Clinic". It is hard to find a place after hours when your children become ill and waiting at the ER lasts forever. I was able to find another clinic their phone skills were much better I just hope their bed side manner is too.

Dear Reviewer, I would like you to know that you did not in fact get the REAL MD EXPRESS when you called some clinic on 4/20/2011. When you call 865-429-0260, the response is ALWAYS..Thank you for calling MD Express, this is (whoever answers), may I help you? The providers never answer the phone due to seeing patients. I apologize that you had this experience with any Urgent Care facility in the area. Feel free to contact me at anytime.

Flippant Conceited Doctor

While on vacation in the mountains one of our children needed some antibiotics for an ear infection and so we visited the new MD EXPRESS urgent care in Sevierville, TN. It's the clinic across from Tanger Outlet Mall. Note this well. NOT GOOD!! I've worked with many doctors in my time but this one - Dr. Fortich - takes the extreme arrogance race that some doctors seem to train for to the absolute top of the mountain!!! Incompetent is bad but flippant toward patients and demeaning is an understatement at the MD EXPRESS office. This should be reported to the State and the BBB.

After we endured this doctor's arrogance and conceit, we didn't even get the medication he wrote filled for fear his attitude reflected his insecure incompetence. We found a better urgent care clinic down in Pigeon Forge that, interestingly enough, told us the new MD EXPRESS office just recently came to town and made some pretty nasty claims against one of the town's older better established doctors. Apparently, the new MD EXPRESS is just one of those lousy places no tourist wants to end up in. Beware of the parkway MD EXPRESS clinic! Nobody should have to go through this when their child is sick.

Dear Dr. Smith, Surely, your talents could be used for a greater good than this! Fake reviews are not necessary to promote your business, just provide good care and the people will come to you.
