I purchased the Hover Linx 18 volt cordless vacuum. It is light weight, has brush on and off button at finger tips, and works for either carpet or tile/hard surface floors. I even pick it up and vacuum the cat hair off our dining room chairs. Best vacuum I've ever owned does it all.

The sales guy Tony at AE Vacuum even put the Vacuum together for me at no charge. First class friendly service, and did I mentioned it's warrantied for six years and if some thing happens to it I can take it to a real person who can fix it locally.

The service here is outstanding, not just trying to make sale but interested in taking care of the customer.
