Suffolk County Community College is one of the largest community colleges in the State University of New York system, enrolling 22,000 students at its campuses in Selden, Brentwood and Riverhead, N.Y. Its Ammerman Campus, situated in Selden is the oldest of the three campuses and has an enrollment of more than 11,000 students. The college offers a wide array of programs in the liberal arts and sciences, visual and performing arts, engineering and computer sciences, and technological training in electronics, telecommunications, computers, drafting and construction. Additionally, it offers several health career programs, including nursing, recreational leadership, human services and American Sign Language. Suffolk County Community College offers its students financial assistance in the form of federal and state financial aid, scholarships, federal grants and loans, and work-study awards. The College offers several student services, including educational and personal counseling, career services, cooperative education, internships, job placements and child care.
