Mashiko is hit and miss with everything except, perhaps, the food. Well known for its bizarre music and decor, web cam, American employees, and a score of establishment "rules" (i.e. "Chopsticks are not drumsticks"), many are not sure what exactly to make of the restaurant, and frankly it's a little weird and ridiculous, but the menu offers a good selection of Japanese sushi and typical Izakaya (a traditional Japanese drinking establishment) items, plus a few originals. Sit at the sushi bar for faster service, because it's usually slow, even on slow nights, and chat up the owner, Hajime, if he's behind the counterhe's quite pleasant.
