I took a coupon in for a full service car wash and lube oil filter $24.99.



The car wash attendant tried to sell me several other services when I arrived (do you want wheel treatments?-no, do you want a detail?-no, do you want the vehicle shampood inside?-no). He was relentless to the point of being annoying. I told him, just the services covered on the coupon, that's it. The vehicle has 20,000 miles on it, I wax it myself, it is generally clean, nothing needed.



About 20 minutes after I got to my office, the service department manager called and tried to sell me front and rear differential service on a vehicle with 20,000 miles on it and an air filter (read on). He said the manufacturer recommends changing the lubricant in the axles every 15,000 miles, that mine looked clean, but that he would recommend doing it. I could not find a reference in my owners manual, so I called the dealership, they recommend every 50,000 miles, not 15,000. He said the air filter was dirty. It was 2 weeks old, I had replaced it myself. I said no to both.



The mechanic then gave the phone to the car wash attendant who again asked if I wanted a detail. I told him no, just the services covered on the coupon.



Imagine my frustration when I picked up my vehicle expecting to pay $24.99 (coupon price) only to get a bill for $150.00.



After arguing at the counter that I did not request the additional services, the service department manager and car wash attendant came into the lobby and said that I had said yes to the detail and left. I still refused to pay and insisted that I speak with the manager/owner. When I went to his office, he pulled out a yellow paper and said you, oh yea, you did not sign for the detail.



I work very close to this car wash and would drive a dirty car rather than ever give them business again.
