We went as a group last night....

We went as a group last night. We waited closed to an hour after we ordered our main dinner. The French Onion soup had so much salt it was uneatable. The steaks were chewy and somewhat cold from what two of our guests stated. The perch was dry from being over cooked and cold when arrived. The salmon was good from what two of our guest stated. One of our guest ordered chicken and pasta. Not sure who the chef was that night but the chicken taste like it was boiled, dry and they added some spices to make it look like it was grilled or something. The odd thing was they added cauliflower and pepper rings? Not a good combination at all. My daughter who loves chicken and pasta did not even finish it after one bit. When the deserts did come out, they were frozen solid and had to be cut with a steak knife. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! IT’S AWFUL!!!!

First lets start with that 73r...

First lets start with that 73rd Prime is NOT part of Kelsey's Steak House!!! My wife, in-laws, and I went to 73rd Prime to celebrate our 9 year anniversary. The wait staff was of the type you would find at a Denny's after midnight. The waitress actually left our table while taking our drink order to go to another table. We presented our orders, two prime rib, fillet mignon, and then...."Oh I'm sorry, I think we're out of prime rib." WHAT? That's what you're famous for? Saturday night at 7:30, really? The manager didn't even care that we were leaving. Didn't even offer any regrets. Just a few cold "I'm sorry's" So my wife got on the cell phone, called Kelsey's in Valpo, and we went there for an excellent dinner. 73rd Prime was lax, inefficient, slow, and not worth the aggravation. Some of the other "chain style" steak houses are even much better. ~disappointed~

Good for the price

A good meal and good service at a good price. Very reasonable prices and a good meal. Steaks are good but not great but the meal is worth it. Service was good and all side items were good. Worth it for a quick night out and inexpensive

Not worth it.

I don't usually waste time leaving reviews, but felt the need on this one. This is not a good steakhouse. Filthy is one word to describe it. I just wish I could leave a negative star for this review.

Not recommended - no stars

We just had the worst dinner we have ever had Kelsey's Steak House in Schererville. First they wanted to seat us in the farthest corner at a table where we couldn't even get into one of the chairs. (My 95 year old mother was with us and uses a walker). There were many waiters, waitresses, bus boys and girls but it all seemed very disorganized. The wheat bread we were served was the driest bread we have ever had and we couldn't smear enough whipped butter on it to make it slide down easily. My husband found one olive in the salad and wondered why there couldn't be more. We ordered the lake perch and they were the size of ocean perch and soggy. We wouldn't take home the ones we left. My husband's twice baked potato didn't have an appetizing color and tasted like paste. He left that, too. My mother could chew her filet medallions but the six pieces of tasteless, dry meat looked lonely on the big, otherwise empty plate. Her coffee was weak and she remarked that you get better coffee at McDonald's. If Kelsey's CARED more about their food, service and atmosphere, patrons would have a better opinion of the restaurant.
