This company treats you like family. they finished my edition in 1 month. The price they charged me was 15% less then the other 2 companies I priced. Bill is a really nice guy. The work they do is impeccable. I would recommend them very highly.

My experience with S&S has been amazing. The entire crew is so helpful and pleasant. Rich, Cookie and Sean are so easy to work with, I was not intimidated to contact them in anyway. When I had questions, they were answered almost immediately. I felt like I was being taken care of by my own family, right down to the smallest requests. I would not hesitate to recommend their company and I would build with them again At any time. So pleased with the quality of our new home!

My wife and I moved into our homes at the end of February of 2017. The experience we had with Richie the owner and Sean his son and cookie the office manager was great. They are very professional and knowledgeable about building a home. Cookie is extremely helpful with the whole building process and answers any questions necessary. Throughout the whole experience I only had 2 minor negative experiences. The man who did the final grade was very short and rude when I tried to ask him questions and he also graded in a way that the ground doesn't "drain" as it should and we have a lot of standing water areas. And second the electrician installed a few switches in the living room with no wires hooked up to it. And some switches that do not power anything at all. So i had to have that "fixed" properly But overall the experience we had with Richie and his crew and staff was great! I would definitely recommend any new customer to him. Richie stands by his work and he responds to all questions in a timely fashion.

In 2005, Richard built a customized 3500 sq foot home for us using the Oxford model as the basis for the design. He spent an inordinate amount of time with us because of the level of detail we wanted. Important to point out that Richard said it would take four months to build and it it was actually completed in less than 4 months! Every step of the way, Richard was the quintessential professional and expert in his field. Richard and his Team were exceptional and built our home with superior results! We were and continue to be so pleased with our home and S& S' craftsmanship and can't thank him enough. Working with Richard was truly a pleasure and he treated us like family. He's a wonderful person with a great deal of integrity.

In May of 2005 I purchased a piece of ground in Northampton County, Pa with the intention of building a single family home designed to my wife's specifications. Six months previous my daughter moved into a home built by S&S, and she was very satisfied. Richard George (the owner) promised to build my custom designed home in 90 days, and he fulfilled that promise. The day after the permit was approved he was digging the foundation, and he didn't stop until it was finished 90 days later. The lumber used was the nicest stuff I had ever seen, and the workmanship of his people was superior in every way. We have lived in that home since December of 2005 without any problems what so ever. When everyone else said 6 to 9 months to build, Richard did it in 90 days. To top that off we agreed on the contract with a handshake, and he fulfilled his pledge with honor. I would use him again, and would recommend him to anyone.

Richard and the S&S team built our home in 2014 and we have had nothing but good things to say about the whole experience from start to finish and anything we needed after that.

Luckily, we lived close by so we could watch the progress of our building process and meet with Richard and team along the way. Almost every time we went up to the construction, Richard was there and would show us around and ask us any questions or suggest we do things differently. The S&S team has been doing this for years, and it shows with their professionalism and their product.

We have always been told stories about the problems people have with builders, but this was far from the experience we had. We couldn't have had a better building experience. We have, and will continue to recommend S&S to those who are interested in building a home and looking for a great experience!

S&S Home Builders constructed our home addition and attached garage. Mr. Richard George, owner of S&S Home Builders, listened attentively to our requests and needs, drew detailed plans, and offered a quote within one day. His highly efficient secretary, Cookie, served as a liaison and maintained ongoing communication, throughout the construction process to ensure that we knew each step. Mr. George coordinated his team to ensure appropriate use of time. Ongoing, intermittent onsite inspections and phone calls with Mr.George ensured the project would be exactly as requested and completed within the time period as designated. All the subcontractors including the excavation by Detweiller team, trimmer, Terry and his son: the painter Hal and all his workers, the electricians Stan; the roofer and siding gentleman; the bricklayer, the tile man; were a big family supporting each other and working toward common goal- our home construction project.

No detail was left undone. The team was meticulous about cleanliness and a clean work area.

We are thrilled with our project and highly recommend S&S Home Builders and Mr. Richard George , for any building project!

Absolutely blown away. Our first home was built from start to finish is two months time. We thought we'd be biting off more than we could chew, but Richard took care of any concerns, sometimes before they even came to be! S&S homes is the ONLY choice when looking to build a home. Richard and company do not rest until their homes are exactly what their customers wanted, and my fiancé and I could not be happier with our perfect new home. You don't feel like just a customer with S&S custom homes either. They treat you like your a part of their family and that's hard to come by anymore. Five stars and two thumbs up! Get your home built with S&S and hurry while the government still offers the rebates for Geothermal heat systems!

Meeting someone like Richard is a rare pleasure in this day and age. We talked on the phone and then arranged to meet in person at the sample home. After my first conversation I knew this was a no nonsense highly experienced builder.

After walking properties and making a decision Richard gave us a rough time table that he was able to keep even with some bad weather days.

manager Cookie were great. Usually you could find Richard or Shawn on the job site but Cookie was always available by phone and gave great follow up. You couldn't find a better company to do business with. We are completely satisfied with our home and would recommend Richard and son for all building needs. He even handled all the paperwork and permits.

What can we say about S&S? They were absolutely fantastic from the start. We can tell you that when we first met with Richard to talk about building a home we could already tell that S&S was a different kind of home builder. We didn't meet with some sales person that was never going to set foot on our property like some other builders, nor were we given some ridiculous timeline. Richard is a no nonsense, old school builder that knows what is going on with your home during the process. He walked our prospective lot with us on a Sunday morning...what other builder would do that?? He provided sound advice and really worked with us to stay within our budget.

Cookie demonstrates the same traits as Richard. She was extremely helpful during the selection process and when prompted, provided opinions based on her experiences and as first time homebuilders, this was much appreciated.

As the home was being built Cookie was great at keeping us in the loop with anything that was going on from permits to when we needed to have our lights in the house. Richard stayed in contact to let us know about how things were going and to answer any of the crazy questions we had.
All in all, Richard said our house would be built in 2.5 months from the time they broke ground, a far cry from the 6+ months we heard from other local builders that wouldn't even build where we wanted. He stuck to his word and never tried to up-sell us on anything. S&S is not greedy by any stretch of the imagination, in fact they aren't looking out for their bottom line. Originally, we opted for the 9' basement so that there would be extra headroom if we finished the basement. Richard called us up one day and said that we didn't need the 9' basement because we wouldn't have any duct work that would run under the floor because of the heating system we chose. He told us to stop up to the model home to decide for ourselves if the 8' ceiling would work. That was a huge savings for us that we would have otherwise spent and potentially gone over budget.

They aren't sales people and that made us feel really comfortable talking with them from start to finish. We have zero complaints about our beautiful home that was completed on time, just like we were told. We've already recommended them to family that is looking to build a home and we've talked them up to friends. If we ever decide to add on to our home we certainly know who we will be calling.

Would (and have) recommend S&S to anyone looking to build a new home. We were in a bind, as we had sold out home, and had no where to live. Richard and Cookie were MORE than accommodating with the build process, and we are not easy people to work with!

S & S built an addition and remodeled my mother-in-law's home. They started in March 2014 and we were in our addition by May 2014. Richard is great! He never over promised or under delivered. He went above and beyond to make sure what we wanted was there and always checked in with us to make sure we were happy. Cookie the office manager was excellent to work with. She continuely communicated with us about every detail that was going on. Thank you S & S for a truly great experience. I know we will be contacting you in the future!

S&S handled my remodeling project from A to Z - Richard is the best! Personal communication, excellent quality, honest and fair. He isn't happy until everything is done right. Cookie is very personable and provides prompt and complete information and communication. Richard built our house in mid-Dec 1985, and we moved in three months later. He builds a quality house for a reasonable price.



We did have a roof leak when the house was 18 years old. I called to see what the roof shingle warranty was. Next thing I knew Richard showed up personally at my house with a crew...and two hours later the leak was fixed. I asked "what do I owe you Rich?", and his response was "nothing, it should not have leaked in the first place". That's standing behind your workmanship...thanks S&S!!!

S & S built my home in 2002. I LOVE my house! The construction was superior and you wouldn't want a better builder! Thanks for giving me my "DREAM HOME"!
