Sawyer Highlands Church was established in 1952, and since that time, has been part of the Baptist General Conference (now called Converge Worldwide). This area of Southwest Michigan is known as "The Highlands", a name given many years ago because of the large sand dunes along Lake Michigan.Sawyer Highlands is located only 1 mile from Warren Dunes State Park. The worship services at Sawyer Highlands Church can be described as "participant worship" services. The services are designed to help the body of Christ "participate" in the worship service with God the Father as the audience. They combine hymns and contemporary Christian music led by a worship team. At times the worship team will include a chorale and/or an orchestra. The facility at Sawyer Highlands consists of a main auditorium (seating for 300-350), fellowship hall w/ kitchen, nursery, gymnasium (all purpose room) w/ large kitchen, numerous classrooms, pastoral offices, and the main office.
