Wonderful! Mine and my husbands favorite place to eat. Authentic Mexican cuisine with great hospitality!

OMG, this was the absolute WORST Mexican food we've ever had! El Ranchero puts Mexican food to shame! Their food was rubbery, extremely bland, and totally undercooked. It couldn't be eaten, and we tried to send it back. The soft tortillas were raw, partly frozen, and slimy. The chicken tasted bland & rubbery; as though it were cheap, strained, gristle scrap-meat from the slaughterhouse floor. Disgusting food. The elderly-battle-axe female manager was snotty, unbending, and downright rude when we politely told her and tried to show her that our food wasn't cooked. Pink chicken should NOT be served! I should really call the Board of Health on them. They're likely to kill some poor, unobservant senior. The manager kept curtly insisting to us that nothing was wrong with it, and wouldn't take the un-eaten meals back. She and the cooks should be sacked. They're clueless, nasty, and need to learn how to cook and give decent, respectful customer service. Sadly, this wasn't the first time we've had a bad experience there with poor food. We gave them several years, and tried returning, hoping they'd change their act. Once bad, always bad, as it turns out. Huge disappointment & total waste of money. Never recommending them to anyone. Rosita's in Kingston, NY, or Mexican Radio in Hudson, NY is far better and authentic.

Don't think twice!

After passing our typical post hunter mountain eateries (Maggie's / General Store). We came across el rancho. We hesitated in the parking lot for a few minutes and said screw it lets go in! We sat at the bar and it was definitely not a mistake. Everything was fresh, autentic, and amazing. We learned that it was a family establishment that has been there for over 25 years. We highly recommend eating here. Don't miss El Rancho, and especially their tres leches cake.

Out of this world salsa

We chanced upon El Rancho years ago and have not stopped going there since. A family run restaurant, El Rancho has great food and salsa that they make from thier own secret recipe that is by far the best salsa I have ever had. I can't even find a jarred salsa I like after having their salsa. It is fantastic. Eat there and take a container of salsa home with you. You'll be glad you did.
