Gary did a great job, my 10 year old honda mower was hurting. Never really started well. Now it simply works, first pull every time. My wife said buy a new one, nope for $100 I have a new one.

Thanks you Gary!!!

I have a cheap electric leaf b...

I have a cheap electric leaf blower that arrived to me from Greenworks dead on arrival (DOA). I called Greenworks, who gave me "Gary's Small Engine Repair" as the closet place to take my blower. I called and talked to someone there (presumably Gary since he said himself that he's the only one who works there) and explained the issue. He told me to bring it on down and he would look at it. All Greenworks wanted was for Gary's to confirm that yes, in fact, the blower is dead. Then I could get another blower from Greenworks.

A week or two go by, and I finally get the time to take the leaf blower down for Gary to declare "dead". But rather than helping me like he said he would, he told me that he doesn't work on Greenworks products. I told him I wasn't expecting him to fix it, just to declare it dead so I could get another one. He said he had no connection with Greenworks. I told him I talked to someone at his shop that told me to bring it in. He said he was the only one there and he didn't remember our conversation, and again told me he didn't work on Greenworks products. I told him that Greenworks thinks he does, because that's where I got his contact information. At this point, I would have expected him to say something like, "Gee, I'm sorry you had to make the trip down here", or more helpfully, "If you have the Greenworks phone #, I'll call them and see if there is some way I can help you out", or even, "I'll call them and ask them to remove my name from their list", or something along those lines. But instead, he turns nasty, tells me he won't repeat himself again, and calls me an idiot and tells me to leave. When I tell him that he shouldn't speak to people that way, he substitutes words that I cannot repeat here for the word "idiot". Several different ones. Over and over. Now, I ask my reading audience to consider this for just a moment - does he think I've dreamed up his business name and phone #? That I picked it at random? That I drove three times further than the closet small engine repair shop for fun? A logical person would realize that, whether they remember our conversation or not, obviously this potential customer is here because someone gave him the business name and phone number, and that they should try to fix the problem (not the broken blower, but rather, the fact that Greenworks gave me his business name and phone number, apparently in error). If anyone questions the relevance of all this information, please - any time a business person is unwilling to help a potential customer out, resorts to bad language, and loses his cool and throws you out of his business, it is a reflection on the person's character. Think twice whether or not you want to do business with someone that blows a gasket so easily and alienates potential customers. I personally don't reward business owners who behave so abhorrently. Shame on you, Gary.

Wow. Gary must have been havin...

Wow. Gary must have been having a rough day today. I have a cheap electric leaf blower that arrived to me from Greenworks dead on arrival. I called Greenworks, who gave me "Gary's Small Engine Repair" as the closet place to take my DOA blower. I called and talked to someone there (presumably Gary since the place seems to be a sole proprietorship and there was no one else around) and explained the issue and he told me to bring it on down and he would look at it. All Greenworks wanted was for Gary's to say that yes, in fact, the blower is dead. Then, Greenworks would just send me a new blower (they didn't even expect the old one back).

So then, imagine my surprise when I arrived and Gary didn't remember ever talking to me, told me he didn't have any connection with Greenworks, and didn't want to hear anything more about the matter. One would have expected that he might have said, "Gee, I'm sorry you had to make the trip down here", or, "If you have the Greenworks phone #, I'll call them and ask them to remove my name from their list", or something along those lines. What does he think, that I dreamed up his business name, phone #, and address? There are small repair shops much closer to me than this one. A logical thinker would have figured this out and offered to help in some way (I believe that their yellow pages ad uses the word "Integrity"?). When I pressed the issue (hoping that he would remember, or at least offer to help), he became nasty, calling me an idiot and telling me to leave. When I told him he shouldn't speak to people that way, he chose swear words in place of "idiot" that I choose not to repeat here. Over and over again. Way to go, Gary!!! Way to earn business! Let that "integrity" shine! Who knows, maybe someday I might have wanted a real leaf blower and might have bought it from you. EVERYBODY SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS - GARY IS NOT A REASONABLE OR HELPFUL PERSON!!!

HE CHANGES HIS QUOTES AFTER YOU LEAVE!

I don't know what's happened to Gary's business. He used to be a nice guy. He fixed our mower for us countless times. However, the repairs never lasted. The last time, he said it was due to bad gasoline so we put new gas in it and the problem came back in about 6 months. I took it back to Gary and he said he'd look at it and call me.

When he said it was bad gasoline (again??), I got skeptical. I told him not to fix it and I would pick it up. When I got there, he was friendly and said he kept it apart to show me the problem. I said I didn't understand that stuff and to just re-assemble it for me because I wanted to repair it elsewhere. Then he said it's $20 to re-assemble it or he would gladly repair it for $50. I wasn't happy about it but he had me cornered. I made sure he knew I wouldn't pay him more than $50 when I came to pick it up. He gave me attitude, wrote up the $50 estimate but didn't give me a copy.

When I went to pick it up, he told me it was $55. I reminded him of the estimate. He showed it to me and I saw he wrote a big 5 over the zero. Are times really that tough Gary?? No wonder he didn't give me a copy. I told him he changed the quote after I left and he started getting scared and defensive. He denied it and said the tag on my mower even had the right price. We looked and there was nothing. Then Gary said he must have forgot to put it on there. What a LIAR! He made me pay cash and would not give me a receipt. If I had the receipt, I'd be able to report him for changing the quote after I left. I hope his business gets audited. For all I know, he's not reporting the cash I gave him to the IRS.
