Santa Ana, California - November 25, 2010 - Moved after reading an article in the OC Register, "Turkey Donations Sought to Feed Needy on Holiday" - Written by Doug Irving, on the Path of Hope Foundation's cry for help in feeding the homeless this Thanksgiving and desire to give back to the local Santa Ana community, local Santa Ana small business general contractor CJW Construction, Inc (CJW) went into action purchasing a total of 100 turkeys to donate to the Path of Hope Foundation. The donated turkeys, 2, 000lbs worth, were prepared for Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day to feed the homeless at the Salvation Army's Santa Ana Temple, 1710 W. Edinger Ave. The foundation was expecting a higher turnout this year than last year's 1, 600 turkey meals served. The Path of Hope Foundation received delivery of the 100 turkeys donated by CJW on November 23, at the Path for Hope Foundation office in Fountain Valley, 16345 Harbor Blvd. They were then delivered to Salvation Army's Santa Ana Temple later that afternoon where the warm smell of roasting turkey filled the air for a mile around the site. The Path for Hope prepared the turkeys a day in advanced, cooking an average of 60 turkeys an hour, in order to have the Thanksgiving feast ready in time for the Thursday dinner. CJW Construction, Inc has long been part of the local Santa Ana business community since it was founded by Carla Whitehead in 2000. CJW is a Woman-Owned, 8 (a), and HUBZone Certified Small Business general contractor specializing in heavy civil and building construction. Carla Whitehead has a firm belief in giving back to the community where her small business was born, often giving to local Santa Ana charities in need where she donates her personal time and other resources. The Path of Hope Foundation was founded by Gus Guzman 44 years ago and has long been striving to make a difference in its local community in Orange County. The foundation also runs an annual Christmas toy drive collecting donated toys for underprivileged children.
