For many years Tai Pan operated an elaborate showroom that was designed to service the smaller customer such as interior designers who the company couldn't cost effectively send a sales person out to call on. This smaller customer, although still buying for resale, became the best part of Tai Pan's business in that the volume was high, the margin was high, and most was on a cash basis. It became obvious to Tai Pan that the greatest future opportunity was to sell wholesale directly to the public, somewhat in the pattern of Costco. In the year 2005, Tai Pan became known as Tai Pan Trading Wholesale Home Décor when it opened its first retail store in a 100,000 sq. ft. facility located in Sandy, Utah. Tai Pan's presentation was a highly merchandised approach with a superstore level of variety, and an ambiance and charm of a small boutique. The wholesale to the public concept has gone over very well and subsequently, Tai Pan has opened two more stores. One store is located in Clearfield, Utah and opened in 2006, the other located in St. George, Utah, opened in the fall of 2007. Tai Pan currently has plans to expand into many other markets.

bad business practices

Nearly everyhing in Tai Pan is cheaply made in China, marked up 800%, and doesn't last. Some of the employees may be illegal and all employees keep getting their wages cut on a regular basis, even those who have been there from the beginning. But don't worry, the owners are still making great money. So if you like China owning the U.S., employees treated unfairly, and your expensive junk to fall apart, by all means, shop Tai Pan Trading.

My wife loves this place!!! Yours will too

My wife loves going to Tai Pan Trading during the week. I went with her for the first time this week end & saw a lot of things in the store that are in our house. It is a 70,000 square foot mega store that is a fun way to spend a few hours & a few bucks. Their is a great selection of gift ideas for the holidays to give to friends & family. I told my wife the next time she goes I want to be invited (I kind of want to keep an eye on her spending...just kidding). GREAT STORE!!!

A lot of variety to choose from

This store is very interesting to shop because you can find treasures that are wonderful that you have never even seen before. Friendly employees and reasonable pricing.

Love It

Love to shop here. There are wonderful deals on fun decorating items for your home. The selection is constantly changing because the items are wholesale, which is also nice, but if you find something you like you should probibly grab it. They are very busy though so it is hard to get help.

Tai'Pan Trading

Excellent selections and prices. I love to wander and window shop; however, when you want help in locating something plan on looking, with out any employees help; which is not preferred if you need to find that one item. The help is few in number and not easy to communicate with.
