It’s been 6 months that I go to Joy's class and I have already felt a huge progress. When I started I was considered as a beginner; however, I played Level V -VI Beethoven Fur Elise in the student recital last month. She has been teaching the piano for 35 years now. Joy is absolutely the most skilful and knowledgeable teacher I have ever had. She loves the piano, music and art and knows how to transfer this feeling to the students and motivate them to practice and enjoy it at the same time. She has many students from all the ages most of the students have started with her since they were in kindergarten or so and they continue for more than 10 years. She has students from all cultures and nationalities. At her last student piano recital in Foster City community center you could find from 5 to 70 year old students. In the class Joy covers all the topics such as Theory, Etudes, Technique, playing different composers, Music history, composition and ear training so forth. In addition to teaching the piano Joy is a Fantastic Piano player and classical music composer too. At the end I must add that Joy got a great personality full of energy, motivation to learn and teach and honesty and humanity. I strongly recommend her.
