I have worked in Silicon Valle...

I have worked in Silicon Valley for a long time. A couple of years ago a relative gave my wife an obsolete, but still functional Dell laptop with a defective internal DVD drive. I went into the store on my lunch hour, looking to purchase a replacement DVD drive that I could install myself, and was told they didn't have any new internal DVD drives that were a direct replacment. As I was about to leave, the PC technician said, "wait one second, let me check in back". He went in back and returned with a dead Dell laptop that was a different model then mine, and pulled out the DVD drive and put in my wife's laptop and it worked fine. I ask "how much" and said "free, were going to recycle this dead laptop anyway". Nice, thank you for this professional courtesy. If you treat all your customers this well I think you will be in business a long time.
