I couldn't have wished for anything better! Dan, Ramon and Jose were the best movers I've ever had. They were punctual, professional, and organized from start to finish. They clearly know what they're doing. I would 100% recommend the whole team at SMS MOVING and especially Dan.

We would not recommend this moving company to anyone. They were scheduled to be at our home first thing on Saturday morning. This was confirmed with the company the day prior to our scheduled move on Saturday. The company changed the arrival time from 8 am to between 9 am and 11 am. When no one showed up or called we called the company at 11:30 am to inquire where they were. They had the driver call us back which took about an hour. The driver was hard to understand, but stated they were still at another home which was taking them longer than anticipated. We reminded them we had some furniture in a storage shed that had to be out by the end of the day or we would be charged for an additional month's rent. The driver stated they would be there by 1 pm. At approximately 2 pm they called and stated they wouldn't arrive until 4 or 5 pm. We asked them where they were and they stated they were in Bakersfield which is 2-1/2 to 3 hours drive away in a large moving truck. We called the company to complain about the delay and throughout the day we were given one excuse after another from the driver. Needless to say, no one showed up on Saturday. The driver finally called late Saturday and stated they would be at our house at 8 am on Sunday morning. By 8:30 when they still had not arrived on Sunday morning, I called the driver. He stated they were in Earlimart which is about 1-1/2 hour drive to Fresno. At 9:30 am we called the driver again to see where they were and he did not answer his phone. We then called the main company to inquire and they stated that they had been unable to reach the driver also, but would try to contact him and the driver call us. We did not receive a call. At approximately 11 am we finally decided to rent a U-Haul to empty the storage shed so that we would not be charged for the additional month. We emptied and storage shed ourselves. The movers finally arrived at our home at 12 noon. They were driving an old moving truck that had graffitti written on the side of it with no information about the company on the truck at all. There were 2 Hispanic men and a young girl. The men did do an okay job, but we were charged for materials (tape), gas, and mileage in addition to the agreed upon charge for the move,



First thing Monday morning I called the company and asked to talk to the Manager. They stated she was on the phone and would call us back. We never received a call. We then called again at approximately 10 am and we spoke to Joey about the incident. He was the person who took the originial order from us. Joey stated he would get someone for us to talk to and we waited on the phone over 20 minutes. I finally hung up and called back and spoke to Joey again. This time he finally got a Manager to speak to us. We explained the story to the Manager & advised her that we had to rent a U-Haul because they failed to show up as scheduled on Saturday. We asked for reimbursement to cover the cost of the U-Haul we were forced to rent because of their lack of custsomer service. We did state our unhappiness and stated we were going to the Better Business Bureau if this wasn't taken care of in a proper manner. She stated there was nothing she could do, but would look into it and call us back. It's be 2 days and she still has not called us back. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. They are very unprofessional and definitely not customer service oriented or reliable.

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!! They are your classic "Bait-n-Switch" operation. After we succinctly gave them a list of our moving items, they sent us a quote of $404. When they arrived (four hours late) they began to tell us that moving the piano, the refridgerator, washer/dryer, any mirrors or anything over it seemd 25 lbs...the list just kept going on and on..would be hundreds and hundreds of dollars over the original quote. I called Mary, the manager, to dispute this and she started yelling "read the contract". I had the contract in front of me and asked her to show me where it states there would be extra charges for such items. She couldn't point to anything specific, but just said that's what they meant! The bill turned out to be $2000 after they "waived" many extra undisclosed costs...how someone can "waive" costs for things that were undisclosed in the first place is beyond comprehension. The movers were at my house for over 24 hours! By 2 a.m. we were all so exhausted, I provided the three young movers with blankets, pillows and blow-up beds. They slept in the truck outside out house. (They said they had slept in their truck for 10 days on a prior trip!) The "professional" movers consisted of a young man whose only been in the US for three months; another young man that couldn't be more than 17, could'nt speak English and we were told was an illegal; and another man who didn't speak English. They insisted in wrapping Everything in plastic...even when I asked them not to...which just racked up the hours. We had already previously moved our entire kitchen, master bedroom furniture and living room furniture ourselves....we have a modest home and it still took them over 24 hours to move it!!! Most of it due to the slow laborious wrapping that they insisited on. We also moved our own mirrors and fragil things as everytime they touched a mirror it was $35 to $65 "wrapping charge". This whole scam was a nightmare for us...we felt so bad for the workers as they were provided no hotel or food that we ended up feeding them dinner, breakfast and lunch....the entire experience was outrageous and ridiculous. The workers themselves were nice and I'm sure just following orders....but the company is a complete farse. I am filing a formal complaint with the DA's Office and warn anyone to NEVER use this company. My anticipation and excitment for my long-awaited moving day has turned into a nightmare!
