My husband and I went to John Pesta in early March. The appt. took over two hours and we left with a few pieces of info. needed to be provided to Mr. Pesta. I faxed and e-mailed the necessary info. early next day. I called to verify with the receptionist, Emily, the info. had been received and Emily said yes. 3 weeks later after numerous e-mails and calls, John Pesta finally calls back to say he is still missing the information. While on the phone, I refax the same information and asked Mr. Pesta to confirm receipt and to confirm he understood the info. He said yes. After several more calls Emily Pesta calls me to say our forms are being e-filed that day (4/9) and to come fill sign the forms. I asked what the damage was and Emily said we were obtaining a refund (we had not had a refund in over 6 years so I was very happy not to have to pay after so many years of paying both fed and state). Mr. Pesta had called my husband to tell him the same - forms are being e-filed and we're getting a return. Two days later, my husband and I walk into Pesta and Pesta and Emily gives us the forms to sign and copies of what was submitted to IRS and State. To our horror, my husband reads that our returns were requested to be auto deposited to a closed savings account. An account closed for over 3 years! My husband asked John why he would do such a thing without asking us first. Mr. Pesta replied he did what we had requested the last few years. We hadn't had a refund in over 6 years!! My husband told Mr. Pesta that and Mr. Pesta was insulted and said he didn't appreciate being called a liar. He looked up our prior returns to show my husband and Mr. Pesta then realized his error as the previous returns showed we paid the IRS and State. Still no apology and no offer to rectify the situation. In previous years my husband and I ignored rude comments made by the receptionist when making an appt or calling on status of our paperwork. The appts. were unnecessary long (two to 3 hours) as Mr. Pesta digressed and would talk of other subject matters. This is not professional conduct.
