Galarza Elementary School, established in 2001, is part of the San Jose Unified School District, which provides a sheltered English immersion program or non-English speaking students. The school offers a Title I, school improvement, economic impact aid, English language learner and innovative program. Its staff includes a bilingual resource and speech teachers, reading specialist, school psychologist and counselor. The school offers a range of academic subjects, such as reading, writing, basic skills, English, math, science, social studies, spelling and vocabulary, music, health and physical education. The school has a parent-teacher association that works in partnership with school s principal and staff, as well as the community-at-large to provide programs and services that enhance the educational environment for all children.
