My experience with Azteca Travel & Tours from San Jose California has been horrible. I went in a Pilgrimage to Israel recently and also in 2015 with the same travel agency and both experiences were abysmal. The agent, Maria, who arranges these religious Pilgrimages is very rude, unprofessional and dishonest in her business practices.

My first experience with this agency involved travel to Italy, France, Portugal. Maria charged 4 people on my credit card who were going on the same trip, but I did not know them. I discovered this when I received a monthly statement showing the charges of 4 people including myself. I questioned the agent and she gave me an invalid reason. I told her that this was “fraud”, and she stated YOU are not paying more than your balance. Again, I told her it was not right what she had done, but her attitude and willingness to own up to it was not pleasant.

My second experience with the same agent from Azteca Travel & Tours was just as bad. Again, Maria was the agent, and she handled one of my claims for a stolen package of facial creams I had purchased in Jerusalem. Maria sent a report to the Crown Plaza hotel, as that’s where they were stolen, and the hotel responded negatively in regards to the theft. Maria was not assertive enough in assisting me in recovering the package of creams that cost a total $285.00. Instead of her recovering the loss, she became very rude, unprofessional and at the end made fun of my catholic religion, mentioning “aren’t you catholic or religious?”

I am very disappointed with the Azteca Travel & Tours for the way the agent conducts business –they’re very unprofessional and dishonest. I don’t want anybody to have the same experience and to be treated the same way. Traveling abroad is a beautiful experience but just not with this agency.
