Established in 1921, The San Francisco Public Defender s Office provides legal representation to more than 25,000 people charged with crimes annually. The office offers a variety of defense services and programs to provide criminal justice. It administers the Children of Incarcerated Parents, which helps to promote healthy relationships between children and their incarcerated parents by providing emergency housing, urgent child care, family court hearing and counseling services.
