The Office of the District Attorney is a part of the city and county government of San Francisco. The office handles fraud and corruption cases. It protects the lives of women, children and senior citizens. The Office of the District Attorney offers crime prevention and law enforcement services. Established in 2004, the office operates an investigation bureau. Its special operations division assists people with consumer fraud cases and consists of public integrity, elder abuse and bad check enforcement units. The Office of the District Attorney also operates a victim services division that emphasizes the homicide and child abuse issues and offers emergency assistance solutions.
