Ken Kelton is extremely knowledgeable about foundations and retrofitting. I have an older home with an original foundation. There was some crumbling of the concrete that had me alarmed. I had talked with several other contractors and was getting more and more confused about what I should do to make my home more secure in the event of an earthquake. Ken was able to explain the project in terms that I could understand. I did not need a new foundation (as one contractor told me). Ken explained that the crumbling was a surface erosion problem common with homes built in the 1910's and 20". What was needed was a thorough cleaning and an application of a cement based water proofing. I also did need anchor bolts and some sheer walls--with some special hardware for bracing. I highly recommend Ken Kelton and his company.
