My move from Ca. to Co. with American Van Lines Relocation Division went very smooth and the cost was competitive. The guys that moved my things were very professional and courteous. The did a wonderful job of wrapping and moving my things. Everything arrived in good shape. My only negative feedback would be that they moved my pickup and delivery dates. The move was easy and simple. The movers were neat, clean and professional! All furniture was wrapped and protected. Upon arrival I was notified when they would show with an estimated time. Everything showed up at the destination just like it was at departure. I would use this moving company again.

They made my experience really easy. Yesenia (who was my account rep) was so very helpful. I would definitely recommend them in the future.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with! When I signed a contract with this company for our military move I made it very clear that we required certified weight tickets upon delivery or our furniture. Here we are 3 months later and still fighting with this company to get these certified weight tickets which were promised. Being in the military, we were required to have these document and made it very clear that we needed these as soon as possible. I was promised that they would be in my mailbox by today (Wednesday June 12). After not receiving them I called customer service again only to find out that they were never sent out! Not only has this caused our family to struggle but it also cause our family to lose over $8,000 due to this companies incompetence. Whatever you do, don't trust this company they are only out to take advantage and get your money!



I have already contacted my lawyer, and will be filing a lawsuit against this company for a full reimbursement of the money as well as the certified weight tickets I was promised! Due to the breech of the contract and the fact that I have been fighting for what was rightfully promised and the fact that they have been giving me the run around for 3 months, my attorney feels that this company doe not stand a chance.





If you use this company, have a real good attorney!

I thought it was very expensive for not haveing a lot of furniture just boxes....The movers were very nice and handled my things with care....For getting the movers on line i was happy to see they were very good at checking to see every thing was going as planned...I would say if you need to move they will do you right....

Good friendly people, a very good move and I have moved 7 times in the military and this one was about the best. Good driver and helper and they packed the heavy items much better than I would have. They were there a couple of days earlier than forecast and it gave weekend back to me (they wanted to move on a Sunday). My stuff made it and had very little damage. Wanted to take the movers to dinner but they needed to move on to the next customer. The only negative was I had to talk to many different people during the planning of the move but the good was I had the same driver and helper.

These guys did a great job with my move from start to finish. My stuff was picked up and delivered when they said it would and the driver communicated with me through out the entire process. When my things were delivered everything was in great shape and of my nearly 10,000 lbs of stuff, only one glass was broken. Driver did a great job packing and keeping my things safe!



The only Negative was the communication on the price. Make sure you understand the process about how the price is generated and you will better understand the final bill. Even with the confusion, price was very competitive.

The pickup driver and assistant went out of their way to provide excellent customer service. I am very impressed.

The drop off driver and assistant were very efficient, cleaned up all packing material, and offered to assemble furniture after unloading. Every single box arrived and nothing was broken.

The price quoted was the price charged. There were no hidden fees.

From the first time I spoke with a representative until they delivered my belongings everything was smooth.

In generally I was satisfied with the move of my goods. The customer support is pretty good, and the guys from Liberty Van Lines - the Franchise Company which was actually doing the work were great, specially at the loading and departure stages. I did not get my two items - the lamp shades packed into the box, but hopefully it will be reimbursed soon.

Overall experience is good. I was expecting really bad things after the reading reviews and researching on the moving companies. But American Van Lines is a big company and supports you on every stage of the moving. You feel pretty safe and have the possibility to discuss the details and even customize your requests. I recommend this company!

I was very satisfied with the move of my furniture from Florida to California. The driver and helper were very courteous, helpful, and respectful. My furniture arrived undamaged and it was nice to have the same crew that picked up my load deliver it. Also, there were no hidden fees in the moving costs, which other moving companies charged me.

However, I wouldn't recommend them for moving vehicles. I had wanted to schedule to pick it up around the same time as my household items. They couldn't locate or schedule a truck to pick it up and I had to repeatedly follow up. Finally I cancelled the request and had another company transport my vehicle. This cost me time and additional money. Maybe the problem is that American Van Lines focuses more on household moves, but the reason I selected this company in the first places was they would take care of both moves.



I wouldn’t hesitate recommending the American Van Lines for moving household items, but I would suggest calling some other group to transport vehicles.

Looking back, the moving experience could have been described as quick, stressful and reassuring. Quick and stressful for the amount of time my sister and I had (<3 weeks) to sift and get through 7.5 yrs of belongings packed, ready for pick-up, transferred from MD to Fla then driving ourselves for 13 hrs straight with two cats to expect delivery at the new location in less than 24 hrs without any issue whatsoever. Reassuring for the things we overlooked during preparation and the way the AVL relo division movers helped make everything work-out to protect belongings thus putting my mind at ease and be able focus on other things. These bilingual(English/Spanish) movers were very courteous and friendly, they explained the process and reassured us everything would be ok in spite of them having to deal with a tight parking space, three flights of stairs, loads of boxes including a ~300 lb prized and adored treadmill. They were done ahead of schedule and the delivery and remaining payment was smooth and quick, the way any transaction should be. Just a few minor things suffered a few bangs and we were able to get the treadmill up and going again. All in all the experience was rewarding. I would recommend them to anyone needing reliable and professional moving services. I did not catch their full names but thanks for everything guys!

This was my first experience with a movers and packers company. I expected from what I heard from my friends that they usually prolong the move and take more than a month to deliver by adding more customers' package on the way. But it didnt happen that way. They gave a 3 weeks deadline and they delivered it before that time. All items were delivered in perfect condition except for some food items which got moved here and there. All big items were neatly blanket wrapped, so no damage was seen. The only thing I didnt like was the Long carry charge, i.e. more than 75 feet from the truck to house they charge long carry fee. I dont know why they do that. They move items in Trolley and not on their backs. In my case, they had elevator too. so what difference does it make if its 75 feet or 150 feet. Other than this, everything else went on smooth. The guys were nice and explained all the process and paperwork in detail from the load till unload. I would recommend my friend to use this service.



I moved from durham, NC to san francisco and they moved it in 15 days!. That was good. I had enough time to find a new apartment and get ready to recieve the items.



I initially got call from another service called MBM moving services who claimed they work with the real company American Van lines and American van lines relocation is something different and I would be on my own risk to go with them. But it was all untrue.

Movers were very curtious and professional. Robert (and his crew) did an excellent job with the load and unload taking care with full protection of every item. We moved our house from Minnesota to Michigan. Delivery took only a few business days and they're were spot on with their weight estimate. They were efficient and rarely took a break. Nothing was damaged with the exception of 2 plates which we didn't pack very well. I would absolutely use American Van Lines for a future move.



The only thing I'd do different is work directly through American Van Lines. We ended up going through a broker and the communication between the two wasn't great.



All in all good experience but I'd ditch the broker in the future.

When my wife and I decided to downsize and relocate closer to family after 39 years in the same house, we found it hard to discard many items. But we did. We sorted and sold and gave away many things. We inventoried and packed many boxes ourselves as part of the downsizing process. Moving.com responded to my need and cued AVLRD as one of three potential moving service providers. I also contacted local providers in my home town phone book. Three locals provided an on-site estimate and 4 others used my inventory list. My estimator, Russell of American Van Lines, was the most diligent and thorough in developing a realistic total weight. The designated crew showed up as scheduled and was most efficient in completing the wrapping and boxing. I was extremely pleased how Alex and his crew covered the furniture with blankets and then plastic wrap. Delivery was delayed about 8 hours due to traffic and construction. But several AVLRD coordinators and the driver kept us informed. They mustered another crew somehow and six very professional movers unloaded us in two hours. My total weight was over the estimate but I did not mind paying for services rendered. Sure a couple things got scratched, but overall the move was professionally planned and executed. I must say that the independent contractors they hire for moving are fabulous! I give Simeon and his crew a 5+ Star rating. Everything was explained in great detail, and everything was delivered as promised. They went the extra mile and are definately into Customer Service.

American Van Lines delivered on its promise and delivered all my household items. The move was 1,200 miles, and involved a drop off point 1/3 of the way for several items. I am very satisfied with the professional service at both ends of the move.

I had good service over all.The truck had electrical problems and was late picking up my things, but the driver and movers were very nice and treated my things with respect.I liked the fact that the my thingds did not leave the truck that picked them up in New Mexico until they were delivered to Kansas. The movers were very considerate and professional.

From Michigan to Las Vegas is a long way to trust a company with ALL your belongings, but American Van Lines seemed to have done a good job. The movers were polite, cautious and fast. The took things apart and carefully put them back together when they arrived. I only had one flaw and that is I was missing a box of items.
