When it's Time 2 Give Back

All I gotta say is that the alumni group does a great job all year long rasin' money by puttin' on fundraisers and helping out residential. I know most of them and they all are very fond of SS and they are glad to volunteer their time to give back to the community that helped them in their time of need. SS is a safe place to go for help and the alumni group is an extension of that when you leave treatment. It helps you stay involved and keep in contact with everyone so that you keep a strong program for yourself while at the same time you are there to help all theose newcomers who need to see those alumni coming back. They need to see how the program works so that they have hope. With hope for a bright future, a lot of addicts just won't make it.

Community Connections

This group meets monthly and tries to keep the Stepping Stone recovery community connected and engaged. Sometimes this is difficult because it is all on a volunteer basis. But they all show up and do their best to organize events and raise funds to keep the associaition running smoothly to help make things fun for the clients that are currently in treatment at residential. I give them props for doing what they do. If more people in the recovery community got involved it would be even better. It's all about giving back because you can only keep what you have by giving it away. At least that's what they say!
