Specialty Textile Services is dedicated to creating an environment that fosters stewardship of natural resources, searches for ways to minimize waste, and find methods of conservation through re-use of renewable resources. In the current environment, Specialty Textile recognizes that "green" is a way of doing business that has arrived and is not merely a passing fad. Our customers, particularly hotels, are being asked by individual consumers and large groups and event coordinators about their green initiatives and what they are doing in an effort to achieve them. Business is being gained and lost sometimes on this one criterion alone. We know that as a arms length vendor to hotels, we need to provide a position for our customers that not only prevents them from attaining business but actually gives them a competitive advantage in the marketplace. In approaching our strategy on a green initiative we have taken a long term, comprehensive, and legitimate approach. We have found that many businesses have created a strategy of buzz words, marketing, and sometimes deception in an effort to position themselves as being green. This practice is known as "greenwashing".
