Great place to have a wonderful dinner, they know what they can offer and they can offer a lot of things. The place looks so good and very homey.

Are you looking for Old World charm with candle lit tables hiding in dark, secluded grotto's? Don't look here. Are you're looking for an Italian resturant that smacks of the 1960s with checkered table cloths, an air conditioner perched over the entrance dripping water, and very good entrees? Then this is for you!



One thing i look for is value for my dollar, and Sanfilippo's delivers. Their sauce is tangy with tomatos and spices. I typically order the Chicken Caccitorre (sp?) dinner, and have some left over for tomorrow. Their garden dining area is great for the smokers in your posse.



You'll hear all about Filippo's Pizza Grotto in Little Italy, but don't bother. It's become a tourist trap, waiting lines are long, and it's high priced for what you get. Avoid that crap, and go to Sanfilippo's on Fifth Ave. You and your wallet will be glad you did.

This is the best Italian food in San Diego.
