In 2012 I purchased a brand new scooter from Point Loma Scooters. Two screws fell out of the front fork while riding it my first day of owning it. After taking it in and having them replace the screws, the scooter broke down on my way home. I would take it back, they would tell me there was nothing wrong, it would break down again. This cycle continued a few times. I eventually asked for a refund, they would not grant it. On the phone I was even called, "a stupid girl". After reporting them to the BBB and DMV, the only thing that finally worked was filing a Small Claims Court Case. When they received notice of their court date, they finally agreed to let me return the scooter for a refund. The whole process took 6 months.

After moving here to San Diego...

After moving here to San Diego I found out real quick how lame the bus and trolleys are. I needed something to get around town and I didn't have much money to spare on buying a car. I looked around and found a few shops in town that sell scooters.

I went to Point Loma Scooters because after looking at other shops I just couldn't spend more than $2000 on a new scooter. I like the old school looking scoots and I got one that really fit my budget. I bought a Verona 150 and they had me on the road for $1675!! They even do the service and repairs here which is good to know that I have someone who will work on it as well. I'm saving a ton on gas and insurance too!

Definitely worth it for me.

Purchasing a scooter from Point Loma Scooters has been an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. I purchased a brand new scooter from them on November 28, 2012, 4 days later, 2 screws fell out of the front fork (where the steering connects). To experience such negligence in assembly, SCARY.. Shortly after leaving the dealership following replacement of the screws, the scooter began dying while at an intersection. I immediately rode it back to the dealership and it was taken out on a test run. I was told "it is the way you are riding it." Shortly afterwards, the same thing happened again. The shop was closed, so I had the motorcycle towing pick me up and take it in the next day for repair. They did nothing to fix the problem, once again blaming it on the way I was riding it.

I demanded a refund and was turned down. So I proceeded to file a DMV complaint, that ended up going nowhere.

Over the following few months, the scooter went back and forth to the shop, they thought the carburetor needed to be cleaned (this I had to pay for), then they replaced the carburetor, and now the engine is being replaced. The problems are still happening 4 months later. Over the last 4 months, my scooter has been in the shop a total of 42 days! They are not fast at repairing or communicating. This scooter is a complete lemon! I want a refund and Point Loma will not comply. Just waiting to wake up from this nightmare...
