Monica Perlman, MD, is a board-certified physician providing primary care through Perlman Clinic, an independent practice with clinic offices throughout San Diego. She established the Perlman Clinic in 2005 with the goal of creating a primary care environment that ensured she and other medical providers working with her had the time necessary to spend with each patient, and to be advocates for their patients’ well being. {line break}Prior to founding Perlman Clinic, Dr. Perlman held leadership positions at Scripps Clinic in both primary care and in occupational medicine/employee health. {line break}Active in clinical research, Dr. Perlman has conducted numerous studies on therapies for lung disease, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as efficacy of care management models.{line break}Dr. Perlman earned her medical degree at University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. She completed her residency training at UC San Diego Medical Center and is board certified in preventive medicine and public health. She also earned a master’s degree in public health with an emphasis on occupational medicine from San Diego State University. {line break}Dr. Perlman was born in Mexico City, Mexico and moved to the United States at the age of 16.
