Poe Middle School serves more than 800 students in grades six, seven and eight and has over 80 faculty and staff members. Located in San Antonio, the school consists of American Heritage Academy and American Scholars Academy. It offers courses in science, math, language arts, English and social studies. The school also maintains a library that offers an array of print and electronic resources for classroom projects. Poe Middle School is a part of the San Antonio Independent School District, which has an enrollment of more than 54,000 students in over 120 educational facilities. Established in 1854, the district is one of the largest school district in Texas.
