Food was cold. Makes eating an eggroll hard. Had a request for rice to go. ...2.50! Just white rice!

This place sucks and is over priced

My sesame chicken tastes like someone had been smoking tobacco of some sort around it and my fried rice also tasted like ashes. Both the pork and beef in the fried rice was tasteless to the point of making me sick. This place deserves 1 star there food would be on if they were giving it away for free but I paid 30$ for food that made me gag. My daughter also got sick from the taste it was so bad. I was really disappointed and my frat Chinese experience in San Antonio sucked!

YUCK!

My husband is Asian and this food is terrible! Just terrible! Let's start with lack of flavor, small portions, and pricey. All this would be validated if the food was worth it. IT IS NOT! Seriously the person who gave the other review must have been born without taste buds. We ordered what we thought was cashew chicken, beef & broccoli , low mein and fried rice. I hate to call out a business like this, but I would feel even worse that someone else would waste their money here.

Not an Asian Staff

When I first saw the outside of China Stix, I wasn't too sure about eating there. But once I walked into the restaurant, everything was very assuring. Nicely decorated, but not with the cheesy dragons and the ridiculous hanging lights. However, the staff was not Asian at all. But that allows anyone to work there, encouraging a multi-ethnical staff.

Although the laminated menus did not match the ambiance of the rest of the dining area, there was a very large selection. From pan fried dumplings to Hunan delight, the restaurant was quite diverse. First, I ordered the pan fried dumplings because I am a huge fan. About ten minutes later, they came with a spicy sweet sauce which was extraordinary. It complimented the dumplings extremely well. Next the three entrees came: Kung Pao Chicken (If it isn't good, then the whole restaurant), Sesame Chicken (For a sweet touch), and Jalapeno Chicken (Just for Fun). All of them were great, especially the sauces. Believe it or not, the sesame chicken was my favorite. Although a little overbreaded, it was quite tasty. The Jalapeno chicken came in second, but it still had a unique flavor. It wasn't as spicy as I wanted it, but the taste was great. Finally, the Kung Pao Chicken was my least favorite. It was just a little bland. At least it wasn't your ordinary square-chopped chicken with square-chopped ingredients. Instead, you could taste all of the vegetables in your mouth; like they were grown in the kitchen. Everything was very fresh, which was a major turn on. Each dish was served with an egg roll and fried or steamed rice. The egg roll was ordinary - a little bland. The fried rice was actually surprisingly good. With the sauces from the entrees, the rice combination was excellent. Overall, the food was very pleasant.

Service was satisfying. One thing to improve on is service though. Also, the food could be a little more seasoned. Other than that, it was a very good Chinese restaurant. I would definitely go back again and again and again.
