Tim responded to the low flame message on my thermostat by cleaning the pilot light parts. He thought that dust might be accumulating from dryer lint in the air. He went above and beyond by checking and cleaning the dryer vent from outside which entailed digging it out from 14 inches of fresh snow. Absolutely amazing service! I’m

We had a Gerber Viper toilet installed. Our technician was Mike K. He was very professional, did an excellent job and was polite and informative. We are very pleased with his work and will call Whipple again and ask for Mike K. if we ever need additional plumbing done.

My service tech was kind and professional however. When he can to my home to access the small leak on my air conditioning he said it would be ok for a little while longer and went over options. He also told me I had enough Freon in my system for at least a little while longer to decide what I’d like to do. As I was leaving for a trip the next morning he said it would be fine until I returned and I hadn’t had any problems with it prior to him coming. The next day after I left for my trip I received a call that the air conditioner was no longer working. I was supposed to receive a call from Whipple to set up an appointment to go over everything for right when I got back from my trip, never received a call. Now I’m not sure what to do . I trusted another company last year and now I’m without AC again. Seriously feeling without hope.

We used Whipple to replace our 30 year old water heater, furnace, and 15 year old air conditioner. They weren't the cheapest bid, but had extremely professional employees and the best warranty of any bid that we received. Every installer was great. Today Ken A. came to complete the installation of the water heater. He was prompt, knowledgeable, and helpful. We had a few other things that we were wondering about doing (unrelated to the installation he was here to complete), and he was able to take care of them while he was here. He cleaned up after himself, made sure I understood how to use the new equipment, explained everything thoroughly, and was extremely polite. We will definitely use Whipple again. The hassle-free experience was worth the slightly higher cost.

I was charged a $79 diagnostic charge when two whipple employees came out to give me an estimate on a furnace replacement. One of the men man was very pushy and cocky about selling me a system that he said would be between 8 and 15 thousand dollars. They wanted to have me sign up for their service right away and wouldn't give me an estimate until I agreed to use their company. One of the men was so confident he said that "we don't really have any competition, we are that good." He was so sure I would choose them that he wasn't very straight forward with a ballpark cost of the furnace job. After we had paid the $79 dollar diagnostic fee I learned that the estimate should have been free. I called Whipple and they said they would look into refunding my money and that a furnace estimate should have been free and they would call me back to settle the grievance. They never called back about refunding my money or gave me an actual bid for the work with options to choose from. I would not recommend using Whipple Service Champions and went with another more honest straightforward company to replace my furnace.

100+ degree heat and the AC goes out. I call and schedule an appointment for Friday evening (July 29, 2016). The appointment window comes and goes so I call and just get the answering service. I leave a message... nothing. Another hot and miserable night and still no word despite having left another message. I realize schedules can be unpredictable, however, not communicating with your customers is inexcusable. You ought to rethink your "service champions" tagline.

Please Don't use them they are not a good company.. I got a new furnace and A/C install was very poor. They broke my back door to my home witch they did fix but installed door 3" shorter than what I had and that install was bad also. New furnace has used more gas and electricity than the 30yr old one I had before and I have not even used the A/C yet for the summer.. I got a estimate from another Company and it was around 500.00 more now I wish I could pay the 500.00 to get the product and the service I paid for and wanted.. So upset, Do not use them go some were else.

I called Whipple when my AC was not blowing as cold as it should be. They sent a service technician out and he started working. A few minutes later, another Whipple person showed up. He said he was a supervisor and was checking up on his man. Both the service tech and the "supervisor" started giving me the sales pitch. Telling me that my AC unit had proprietary parts and that they may not be able to fix my AC even if they find the problem. They kept dropping hints about how it may be cheaper to replace my unit even if it could be repaired.

My AC had low Freon. The quote for the repair was over 2500.00 but if I wanted a new one instead, they could hook me up for between 8-12K. What a deal! If I signed on the spot for a new unit for between 8-12k, they would even give me a 10% discount. Even though this was an offer that I could not refuse, I did refuse it.

I called Comfort Solutions. The tech found the same problem. 400.00 later, my AC is up and running.

Whipple sends people out to repair units in order to get into your home and sell you a new one instead. I priced out a new unit with Comfort Solutions and was quoted 5K for a similar unit but manufactured by Trane not Amana. Whipple pushes Amana, which is not a high quality unit.

Save your money and the headache. Don't call the bend you over and retail you champions, call a service company.

Con artists, scammers, liars, and crooks!

First of all, I've had a Whipple magnet on my fridge and have used them for years. I THOUGHT I liked these guys. I was once a monthly VIP member too. Until I found out they've been ripping me off and lying to me the whole time. Oh, and that magnet is good for $35 of service each time they come. That was only used once, when they first gave it to me, they didn't honor that any other time they visited.

I started understand their high-sale, you need this you need that lies after my AC went out recently. It had stopped blowing cold air. They came out and told me I need a whole new AC system in order to repair it. And while I'm doing that I should replace the furnace too for good compatibility. The quality options they gave me were $15-$16k. Feeling pressured to act now (because $4k savings they said) I wrote a check and they sent out their install guys that night. Thank God that the install guys thought it was too late in the evening to even start because it gave me the night to research average costs and call my dad to see what he thought. Come to find out, I'd been Whippled once again. My dad has his friend come out and all the guy did was pull the magnet covers I have over my main floor vents to show me my AC was just freezing up. It works fine now! So luckily I was able to cancel. But that's the reasons they send techs over same-day, no matter the time, to get you in service before you have a chance to research and change your mind.

To make matters worse, Whipple took home my overpriced (usually $20 but i paid over $200 and debatebly unneeded hard start kit for my AC they sold me the year prior. I had to have them come back and put it on again.

Oh, and the week before, I had Whipple to come out to swap out basic trim in my bathroom. The guy quoted me $225 to replace the cosmetic base ring at the base of the shower-head. I laughed, said no, and did it within 5 seconds after he left. He came some lie about how it'll scratch up the piping if I do that and he has to take that all out. Lies. He also didn't give me proper options for my garden tub trim but that's another story. $70 house call fee for nothing (and of course no $35 off for the magnet).

After venting my issues with them to others I have heard many other horror stories. I advise to stay FAR away from these guys. They are in the business of selling you things you don't need and making you think you do need them.

TERRIBLE service! We had a furnace tune-up for $49...which was pretty much a waste of money and time. The technician's main concern was trying to sign us up for "club membership." If we did, we could save 15% with our duct cleaning. We signed up. We were immediately charged $414.95 for the duct cleaning...which we were told once the service was scheduled and completed, we'd be charged. Not the case. 2 weeks later, no one ever called back to schedule the duct cleaning. I called another company, which was considerably less. Wrote my written notice to cancel the "club membership" complained about the service I was charged for that I never received. I was guaranteed a refund. This all took place on January 15th. Still, today, February 2nd. I have not received a refund! If you call, they pass you around from person to person and nobody seems to know what to do or how to do it. They have terrible customer service and their main concern is getting people to sign up for "club membership." HORRIBLE COMPANY, dishonest, unethical and very difficult to work with. I would be careful if you choose to work with them.

I have an investment property that was having problems with the furnace unit and required a technician to come and check it out. I called Whipple and they dispatched a tech to come check it after agreeing to a $69.50 service charge. I was ok with the diagnosis charge, as I understand it required their time, travel and expertise to figure out the issue.

The tech arrived and before he even started to work, he was pitching me on their $19.99/month maintenance plan. Come on, I just want to know what is wrong with my furnace and how much it is going to cost to get it fixed!

After spending around 30 minutes tearing the unit apart I was informed that I needed around $1700 dollars of repairs, including 3 parts in which they claimed had failed. I was told that all three parts and associated labor would be $1700. The repairs were required if I wanted the unit to turn back on and heat the home. Being a good consumer I asked for the break down of parts and labor so I could make sure I was getting a fair deal . . . they would not provide me the information. I tried to get the part numbers they were telling me I needed so I could shop the parts online to assure I was getting a good deal . . . they would not give me that information either. At this point I showed them the door and started to call around for a second opinion.

I called Gunther's Heating and Air in American Fork (5 stars!! highly recommend!) for a second opinion. They promptly came out to my home and after spending less then 30 minutes had the furnace up and running with NO new parts!

I feel like Whipple lied to me in my moment of need (30 degrees outside with no furnace) and tried to force me into $1700 dollars of bogus repairs. I recently found out that all Whipple tech's are highly commissioned, and my experience is not unlike many others. What sucks, is there are probably hundreds of other customers that tossed money down the drain as a result of dishonest and shady recommendations from this company.

STAY AWAY!!!!
