Urban Talent Management only works with professional Models and Actors. If you want representation, don't expect to walk in and book work just because you have a good look or you have booked a few theatre gigs. If you are ready to step into being the best you can be and always a student, then you have an opportunity to give it a shot. The other aspect is that you are teachable, bad attitudes and laziness don't get you anywhere in this industry largely due to competition and client's have a choice who they want to work with. They don't select talent with poor skill and portfolios. Since a large part of this is honoring what you say you will do, then expect to sign contracts ,Urban does not work with flakey talent. You will pay the agency 15% of bookings. This industry is fun and lucrative, but the talent must do the work to be a part of it, such as, practice, study, photoshoots. Sadly there are those that cannot do that and would rather put the blame on someone other than taking the accountability. Also, expect to pay a good photographer They along with coaches and trainers do not work for zero dollars especially if you want to work with these Industry leading creative people. Style Inc. does all the development for Urban. This business is only for talent with passion to do the work, accountability, and most important to be kind to everyone. Connections are important and needed. There are several great agencies in Utah, Nevada, Idaho and Colorado.Casting directors and Art directors pick the best talent for the job, not because you may deserve it. It is a competitive business therefore, you need to be great. It is disheartening when you read a negative review for sure, but keep in mind most of those people need an outlet to release their issues that they are not dealing with in hopes someone with validate them or reacting out of fear in stead of seeking the knowledge needed to make an educated decision. This business is certainly not for them. Clients don't validate you nor tell you why you didn't book a job, you only know you did well if you get the job. It takes an individual that is open and willing to also grow and learn with self acceptance.

Total scam. Don't waste your time or money. They give you false information into signing a contract, and paying about $2,000+ This "agency" should be shut down.

UNPROFESSIONAL SCAMMERS.
Urban Talent called me in for an interview and I spoke with the director Rhyan who was completely unprofessional. He blatantly insulted me with immature remarks as "I look like a drag queen", my portfolio is "discusting", and then he said I look like a "stripper" because I need a more natural look, just because I was wearing mascara. Let me remind you the only make up I had on was mascara, and I was covered from head to toe. He then tried to sugar coat things when the manager came in to speak with me, and he said "you're beautiful" and said to be represented I need to pay $2000. That's a scam, legit agencies dont ask for money upfront, they make money off of what you book. I walked out because I was not going to waste my time with unprofessional immature scammers, and I called to speak with the manager and a young kid at the front desk answered and denied me speaking with anyone, and was very rude. Don't waste your time with urban talent! I have experience with agencies through out salt lake and NONE were as unprofessional. There studio is also cheap.

For a small business in Utah, Urban Talent is an excellent agency. I've modelled professionally with an international agency doing high-fashion print, runway, and several commercials; however, I didn't
receive half the quality of training that I have through Urban. Those who train, coach, share professional information, and do headshots and portfolio shoots for the talent at Urban are highly experienced eced professionals.

The people claiming that Urban is a scam are people who are lazy--possibly even pretty faced and they think their pretty faces are all they need to get them jobs. What they don't understand is that
being pretty isn't a hard thing to do, but this industry really does require talent AND A BRAIN. Increasing in your talent takes hard work and training. It takes experiece and professionalism to confidently walk into an audition and actually know what the casting director is asking you to do. Since being with Urban, I've learned that the more persistent you are with them, the more persistent they are with you.

Acting/Modeling takes far more work and knowledge than professional actors and models are given credit for. The people leaving negative reviews are simply lacking in education in this field of work and need
somewhere to go and vent blaming others for their failure in what could have been if they simply would have put in the work that this field requires.

Lastly, you can always judge a good company by how they give back to the community. Urban Talent is always finding ways to give back to the community and allow their models/actors the opportunity to participate regularly in community service opportunities such as putting together sack lunches for hundreds of homeless people in Salt Lake City and organizing food/coat/toy drives.

Out of all the models and actors that they have signed there are only a handful of bad reviews. Shouldn’t the good way out weigh the bad. It’s work but they are amazing at helping you figure it out

I absolutely love urban talent management and the entire staff. Those people who say it is a scam are full of b.s. I am not even signed with them my daughter is and they have sent me out on jobs. I have read most the reviews and all I can think about are these people are the ones who want to get something from nothing. Just like with anything in life you have got to work for it to achieve it. You want to be successful you have to try. Urban is a talent agency that means they manage your talent . They don't charge you for that because they get a percent out of the jobs you do. I'd you don't do anything they get nothing. The money that every one is claiming they got scammed for is not for representation it's for classes to become better in the industry . Training . My daughter took those classes and she said the things she learned in them were priceless you could not put a price on it because it has trained her to become a better model/actress. The people at urban talent management are wonderful genuine people who want you to do well so they can get paid. So quit being lazy and work for something if you want to be successful don't wait for handouts.

Urban is a legit business. It truly is dependent on how serious you are about it. They send jobs almost daily and YOU have to go out there and audition for it. A lot of people have negative things to say but only because they work 1-2 gigs. You're not going to get your money's worth if you sit around. You have to be aggressive and try out for every possible gig you can!

A total ripoff I will post links below - I really hate places that try to make money off of people's hopes and dreams - they will try to sucker you into taking acting classes and getting new headshots for about $1,000 reputable agencies don't take your money - http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/Urban-Talent-Management/Salt-Lake-City-Utah-84103/Urban-Talent-Management-Style-Inc-The-Urban-Talent-Management-Scam-Salt-Lake-City-Utah-663495 http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/urban-talent-idaho-c286363.html

I actually signed with them and I regret it. I paid $1700 to them to pay for modeling classes and acting classes and a photoshoot with Jordan Keith, which has not happened. They say they want you to succeed, but they don't do anything. I've done jobs and have not gotten paid. I'm sure they sit around most of the day. They try to sign everyone so they can make more money. I put my trust into someone who previously work there, so that they could get me into modeling and nothing has happened. They are all phony. It was a waste of time, money and my confidence in them. The supposed office is not even nice and they have some nasty dog that they let run around in there. I'm truly disgusted by the way it's run.

Great opportunities

I have to say I was a little skeptical if not taken aback by the agreements of paying for acting classes to join.. Nonetheless, unless you are in LA and have a great résumé you are bound to have to start somewhere. My first audition was for a film starring Danny Trejo and I booked it! I also have auditioned for the new Thor movie, and a few other things. I recently booked a commercial all in the span of a few months of being with them. Opportunities happen if you make them happen, no celebrity or star got handed a contract with a agency without some strings attached. LA is the best place to be, but for a great window of auditions and chances to build your portfolio Urban is great and deserves some recognition. I thank them for helping me have those opportunities!!

This is a horrible Agency. My husband did a photoshoot almost 5 months ago and has still not got paid for it. Every time we call and ask, they send us to "the accounting guy" and he never gets back to us. Very unorganized and unprofessional. I would not recommend it

They seem like very nice people at first. They tell you all sorts of things like you are beautiful, you have a great body, etc etc. They get you all excited throughout the whole interview process and then at the end tell you you will need to pay $750 for modeling class and $1000 to get your pictures done..... really? When you seem hesitant about this they say no worry we want to book you now with a shoot so you will pay it off soon. You got the the look etc etc etc. I said i wanted to take the paper work and think about it so i did. I talked to friends who are photographers and in the modeling world and they said that if an agency really wants you then they will take you on for free because they know you WILL make the money. They also said that most agencies that charge you money to be represented by them is usually a big SCAM! So i ended up calling them to tell them i wanted to cancel my next appointment because it was not something that would work for me. I talked to the secretary Alex to be exact he said OK he would tell Camilla. I get a phone call from Camilla, who was very very RUDE, the next day saying that she deserved the respect to know whether or not if i was going to sign. I told her i called and told her secretary to tell her that i called etc. She then said OK and hung up on me... really and you call yourself a professional?? Clearly you guys are not real professionals if your so call secretaries can not even relay a message and secondly if you call someone and act like a teenage drama queen brat. REAL PROFESSIONAL!!! Lastly i would just like to point out that they all drive luxury cars, have a really nice office and only 10% of their models actually have pictures of jobs they have actually booked. Just look at their website at the models profiles. So clearly that $1750 is paying for their office and their expensive cars and no one is really getting jobs like they say.

Urban is a horrible agency, they sign anyone and everyone because they charge you to sign on with them but tell you the money goes toward "classes". Look at their website there are hundreds of models on there, they have all paid at least $2000 to get to the point of being on the website, that is quite the money maker...they will give you their little speech about how they don't make money unless you are making money, but that is just not true, they make money signing lots and lots of people who will never get any jobs. Buyer beware!!

I had the worst experience with Urban. They seem to be in the business of churning out as many "talent" even if they have no talent just so they can get money out of them. They may not charge for representation but they make up for it by charging enormous amounts of money for every thing that a legitimate agent wouldn't charge for. The so called 'agent' is very phony (Camilla Larsen) and rude. Keep records of everything because they attempted to scam me out of money. It wasn't until I filed a complaint with the BBB that I got my money back.

I have been a model with Urban Talent Management for several years. They are an amazing agency, I book jobs regularly and I have made great money. I have checked out other agencies and Urban is by far the best!
