You'll be sorry to take your t...

You'll be sorry to take your television to this place. Mike said he could fix my television and quoted me a price, but after 2 week he called and said the work would cost double what he quoted me, but I agreed on his price because I wanted my TV fixed.

Then after 2 months, he said he could not find the part he needed to fix my television . . . I had to call him to find out why it was taking so long for him to fix my set. He said to come get it. He charged me $30 for his trouble, but I don't believe him as I located the part he needed to fix my set on the Internet in less than 10 minutes . . . the part he said he could not find.

I suspect this is how he operates: He does not tell you when you call that he charges $30 to give you a bid. He did not tell me he charges $30 for the bid.

Anyway, once he receives the money, he will decide if he will fix your television by how much money he has to put out to buy the parts to fix your television. If it is too high, he won't fix the set. It would be too much of a risk for him.

When I asked him why he didn't tell me about the $30 bid charge, he told me he has been taken so much in the past by people who bring in their television and then after he finds out what wrong with the item, the people do not come back to pick up their sets. So, I suspect, he decides he'll fix whatever comes in to his shop based on the least amount of money he has to pay for parts to protect his investment. So he judges everyone by what a few people have done to him. Okay . . .but I didn't rip him off. I would have paid. What's he doing in business if he says he can do the work but doesn't? I would have been happy to pay for the parts in advance, but he never offered me that option.

It is apparent Mike is a lazy technician. He is not to be trusted to do a good job. I should have figured him to be a no-good-for-nothing as his appearance is less than professional and his shop is messy and cluttered with garbage . . . which is a reflection of his work ethic. He is helped by his son, who looks like a wannabe gang member with large silver (probably not real) chains hanging around his neck, baggy pants and dirty t-shirts They both look like they need to bath and comb their hair. I'm sorry to have brought my television to Mike.

Please, if you need your television or any other electronics repaired, go to someone else. Don't be fooled by his low quote over the phone.

BEWARE: Mike's TV Repair is not worth taking your business to.

A lot less expensive than other experts in town. Mike rebuilt an old part that was no longer available and got my old 1980's vcr working like a gem again. Fun to talk with about some of the great older equipment. Steve Salt lake
