I've visited a few veterinarian clinics now, and I haven't found service like this anywhere else. This hospital is easily the best in my experience. The front desk is very people-friendly and seemed more than happy to spend a few extra minutes with me and my hectic schedule to set up times to bring in my dog. Employees from the back have even come out to say hi to my dog so she actually really likes going to the vet. Waiting time is minimal. The technicians and the doctors are all VERY approachable, knowledgeable, and straightforward in their findings and recommendations with my dog, and the service at a GREAT price compared to other places I've looked into. I'm always on a tight budget, but setting up a time for all my dogs isn't really an issue with them, so I can afford to keep coming back often. I won't go anywhere else.

Recently brought my dog, Lucy, in for a limp. This veterinary hospital offered a thorough, professional, and affordable experience; Carrie, the vet tech, was terrific, as was Carlos, the (crush-worthy) veterinarian.
I most appreciated that the Dr. was willing to show and talk me through Lucy's x-rays. I was given so much time and respect and care by ALL of the staff. With four pets, I'm sure to return soon. I cannot recommend them enough. : )

This is one of the best places I've been as far as getting you in on time getting you out with all your questions answered nothing left unknown.

They really do take the time to listen and to help you the customer understand what's going on with your pet.
you can tell they truly care about the owner and the pet.

I recommend this to anybody looking for a quality vet.

We have been taking our dog to Healing Hearts for just over a year. We couldn't be happier with Dr. Huston and her staff. We had been to several vets before finding HH and were always overcharged or unable to get an appointment in a timely manner. HH has reasonable fees for their services and we've been able to get in the same day on most occasions. Dr. Huston is wonderful with our dog and makes her visits as comfortable as possible. She appears to be extremely smart and is obviously very caring. She spends a great deal of time with us during our visits and addresses all of our concerns and questions. We really appreciate everyone at HH!

After the earthquake and tsuna...

After the earthquake and tsunami hit Japan, I rushed home to Salt Lake City with my gimpy cat, Norah, in tow. I had been dealing with the vets in Japan enough to know that she has hip dysplasia but even with an interpreter I couldn't get much help with her there. I had to return to Japan, but left my cat with a friend who took her to see Dr. Huston on my behalf. The office staff and the doc were very accommodating with communication over email and the Dr. Huston herself made time to speak with me over the phone at length about Norah's hips. She and the staff went as far as to look into surgeons/specialists who could do a hip replacement (my cat had no hips anymore at this point) in Utah and were very good about keeping me posted on what they found out.

About 6 months later I came back to Utah for good with a second kitty. I brought both of my cats in for shots and follow up on the hip situation. I got to see firsthand how natural and patient Dr. Huston was with my cats and how well they reacted to her. Norah is a very shy cat who used to hide her face under my shirt at the vet in Japan, but was very cooperative with Dr. Huston. She surprised me my telling me that Norah's condition made her curious and that she had started reaching out and learning as much as she could from specialists on the subject. Knowing that she cares and loves her job that much, and seeing her with my cats, was an experience I'll always hold other animal hospitals and vets to.

In the end I have not moved forward with hip replacement for my cat- but I bought some glucosamine at her suggestion and feed my cat in a way that keeps her at the weight her hips can handle. Norah has been improving so much and even chases the other kitty around- pretty amazing for a cat with no hips and arthritis in what she has left of them! The cost for vaccination, x-ray, visit, a month supply glucosamine supplement, and kitty painkiller (very rarely used and still plenty left) was around $200, and that really is reasonable.

My puppy was having really bad...

I would absolutely recommend them to my friends and family!

My puppy was having really bad discharge from his eyes. I called Healing Hearts and they were able to get us right in. Everyone was SO nice! The lobby and the exam room were VERY clean! They had us in and out in less than 30 minutes with a diagnosis and medication! I would absolutely recommend them to my friends and family!

e started taking our dog to He...

e started taking our dog to Healing Hearts, right after we got him, a couple of months ago. We have been very impressed with Dr. Husten and her staff. They have referred us to other clinics that have had less invasive techniques, if they felt that would be safer for my dog. After our puppy got sick, and we had to have him hospitalized, Dr. Husten called me, herself, several times to follow up with us and see how he was doing. Their prices are also very reasonable. Only $35 for a wellness check up. I would definitely recommend Healing Hearts.

Healing Hearts is seriously ov...

Healing Hearts is seriously overpriced. I volunteer for a rescue group and transported a cat there for a dental. It cost over $200 and the cat only had 6 teeth left to begin with. They also refused to shave down her matted hair because its cold outside even though this cat doesn't go outside. When I took her home I had to do it myself much to the dismay of both of us. Even though I brought her from a rescue group, they tried to convince me to turn her over to them to adopt out implying that we weren't taking good enough care of her because she is skinny and declawed. Wow, she was rescued that way! I gave them my phone number when I made the appointment, and again when I dropped the cat off but they never called and I had to call them to see how she was doing only to be told they had tried to call the rescue's general line and of course didn't get thru. I used to take my personal cats and dogs here too and haven't been able to leave yet without hundreds and without them forcing me to take home that terrible Prescription Diet crap that my animals refuse to eat and it just piles up in my house. I'm never going again, and I'm telling all my rescue friends the same.

This cat was over 8 years old. It came in severely dehydrated and anemic. The rescue accepted the price for IV catheter and fluids, IV antibiotics, Bloodwork, the dental which was a total mouth extraction with the K9's, so there was much suturing needed to keep the gums from bleeding out. Anti-biotics and pain management were also included. The bloodwork showed that the cat was in early renal failure(Kidneys going out) So we sold them a bag of hill's K/D, a Rx diet for cats in renal failure. It has reduced amounts of proteins and phosphorus which are bad for the kidneys. We contacted the reps for this group before starting any of this and they did not flinch at what they felt was necessary. The reason we declined to do a total shave down was because it was winter we were told it was not kept inside, that it was a barn cat. Crystal is not a regular client of ours. She came in one time with a dog that had an acute issue that included GI upset. The food in question was Hills I/D and is often used in cases of Parvo, Giardia, and other times when a bland diet (meaning the food is going to be less tempting by necessity) is needed to help the animal keep food down and not have runny stool. When we did the follow up call on that case she said the animal was much better. This Rescue group has also gotten 3-4 free x-rays from us in cases where they needed them asap. If they feel hard done by then they are free to contact us, but they never did complain. Neither did Crystal when we did the call back on her dog.

If you care about your animals...

If you care about your animals, do NOT take your animals there. Dr Houston looks like she is on drugs, along with their former vet and they now have a blonde Dr who can not handle a cat at all. I was told by both vets to kill my cat and they were very upset when I declined to get a second opinion. The guy that is working there got very aggressive with me. I took my cat to Dr. Wilson and the cat is doing great! Money was not an object, they were either to stupid or to lazy to find out what was really wrong with my cat. If you love your pet, please go elsewhere

I don't even know where to start to respond to this. Firstly, at the time this was posted, Dr. Huston had been gone for over a month on medical leave due to having a plate put in her neck. Prior she did suffer from sever pain, but did not come to work on drugs and does not make a practice of pushing for euthanasia. When Dr. Doub was here they never shared a case together, so I don't know how they both could have pushed for euth. The only male that has worked here so far is me, I am the office manager, and I rarely involve myself with cases. Dr Wilson is an incredible Dr. He is also a favorite of an employee who was fired from here not long before this was posted. If you look at the other posts, she also bashes Salt lake Spay and neuter which is our sister clinic and NMHP which is an organization that let the same person go at the same time we did. This could have nothing to do with this review. It could all be coincidence.

I checked prices for dental cleaning elsewhere; Dr. Huston is the most reasonable at half the price. She and her staff care about your pet and know he/she is an important part of your life. Thank you!

AWSOME VET!!!!

I have tried many many vets in northern Utah. Other than the one that closed at the old 49th street this one is my favorite so far! The fee's are so very reasonable. Spay and nuter are comparable to the humansociety prices without the wait. They are so patient with all my many many questions and constant calls with more questions lol. They care for your pet and show it. they really heal hearts here. definately recomend this vet just wish they were open 24 hrs. I cringe when my pet acts like they may need help while they are closed and I pray they can wait till open hours. So far i've been lucky. knock on wood. I hate all ER vets so far.
