I called on Tuesday, made my appointment for the following Monday. As I was making my appointment I told his wife that I am pretty sure my heating element in my whirpool dishwasher was broken. She says, "Our technician has the common parts on the van. It's $75 dollars for him to come out and an hour of service. If we don't have the part we will order it and you don't pay the $75 fee again." We make the appointment between 10 and 1 on the upcoming Monday.



Fast forward, to 1:30 on Monday...yup, even with a 3 hour window he was still late and no phone call. I actually called her and she said she would have her technician (husband) call me....which he never did. Anyway, he comes in walks over to my dishwasher and opens it. See's the heating element, which is broken. Literally doesn't have to move anything other than the dish rack."Your heating element is broken. It's about $240 for the part.When it comes in you pay for the part and $40 an hour." Then proceeds to write me a bill for $80.08. Took him longer to write the bill than it did for him to open my dishwasher and tell me what I already told his wife.Who,mind you, led me to believe the part would be on the van.



The fee was a "Service Call" fee.The $80 isn't applied to when he needs to come back and put in the part, that's $40 an hour. AND....this is the icing on the cake, after he left I figured I'd order the part and try to google "How to fix a heating element". The part is $16 on Amazon. NO JOKE!!! He quoted me $240 for a $16 part.



I've seen and heard a million stories of contractors and repair guys taking advantage of people and being dishonest, I've never had an issue until now. It's unfortunate that this "company" gives the good one's a bad name

Stay away from this company, it's a total scam. Guy said oven would need $2000 in parts to repair, told me to buy a new one (of course he can help with this) and took my $80 service charge. Got a second opinion: $417 for parts and labor total. When I called to ask about this, he refused to refund the money and was nasty to boot. Go elsewhere for your service needs.

Like others who have had the misfortune of dealing with Beehive Appliance Service, I to was charged $70 for Dean--the man who takes great pride in honesty and integrity , by his own admission--to come out and tell my wife my ice maker was broken.



He then told my wife that it would be $200 for an aftermarket ice maker, more than 3x the price found at many online retailers. The quoted $200, incidentally, did not include any labor or another $70 service fee that would be charged when the part arrived.



After speaking with Dean on the phone regarding my concern, I asked him if he "honestly felt good about charging $70 to simply diagnose a problem we already knew existed without actually doing any repairs", to which he replied that he "absolutely did".



If you suspect your appliance is broken, try and find someone that does a free estimate, a minimal diagnostic fee, or will actually fix it/replace it on the day. Paying $70 for a man to come out and tell me that my appliance is broken, especially when I told him it was broken in the first place, is completely ridiculous.
