My parents have lived there for almost a year, now and they hate it. So do I. The accomodations are uncomfortable, the price is outrageous, the service is miserable, and nearly everything that was promised as to medical care and attention never happened. To cover their needs, they have to spend over $180 a day for a private caretaker. That is in addition to the almost $9000 a month they pay for rent and food that they don't eat because it is so awful. It is my understanding that most of the money paid by the residents goes to the corporate executives and they are already under investigation for insider trading since the profit margin is so out of whack. This is a travesty. The elderly people who live at this and other Sunrise facilities don't think they have alternatives. Something needs to be done about this. When my parent run out of money, they will have no where to go. That won't be too much longer. I already spend most of my time and effort trying to keep them comfortable but it is not enough. They were told before they moved in that all their needs would be accomodated but that has not happened.
