A friend and I had a marvelous experience at Bar Italia in the Central West End in mid-July.



The weather was so uncharacteristically nice for St. Louis in summer that we dined outside next to the lovely real grapes hangin on the vine behind us as we watched the sun set into Forest Park.



Our server, Drew, steered us toward several scrumptous dishes: a bruschetta, basil, dried tomato covered bread appetizer followed by a fresh multi-greens salad coverered in a zesty dressing of light red vinegarette-olive-lemon and "secret" spices leading toward a main course of Wild Alaskan Salmon and fresh Yellow-fin Tuna. C'est Mangnifique!



We had such a great time that we asked Drew to introduce us to the owner. (Drew wasn't sure where we were going at that point). The gracious owner sat with us and shared his insights on being in the CWE the last 25 years then treated us to a marvelous round of Mango and Strawberry gelatto and a chocolate gelatto.



Thanks Bar Italia for one of the best nights of the summer.



Bar Italia does it right, and you won't regret dining there! Go tonight! ;-)
