For many years I swore off Ice Cream...too much fat, sugar, I put on weight and decided I had enough in my younger days for this life time. Then my elderly, dementia father moved in with me the last year of his life. He couldn't remember much, but did remember his love for ice cream-ice cream-ice cream, we all scream for... anyway I'd take him to Serendipity cause you could park right outside the front door on Big Bend. I broke down and had a cone with him once, then again and another time too. The stuff is just so damn good I couldn't help myself anymore. Serendipity definitely makes THE BEST St. Louis ice cream - I say so and so did my dad, he was 89 when he died and he should know after 89 years. After his funeral mass, I hired Serendipity to set up a hot fudge sundae station in the Church basement in celebration of his love for Ice Cream... they did a great job and it was worth every penny. The Gold Coast Chocolate is my favorite... just make sure you wipe your mouth off after eating as there will be dark, chocolate smears around your lips... yummm!
