Rent Source at rs-stl.com and ...

Rent Source at rs-stl.com and rentsourceinc.com are con artists. They offer no services that they describe on the phone. After you give them your money and log into the site you then realize they just print off a pdf of some listings from craigslist. Again, they offer ABSOLUTELY NO PERSONAL SERVICES!!! So then you call them to get your money back and they forward you to a prerecorded message telling you that they are not giving your money back. They tell you to jump through hoops for 30 days then submit a written request and then MAYBE they will give you HALF of your money back.

I am in the process of reporting them to the BBB and the state attorney. I will also be posting this review anywhere and everywhere on the internet so more people do not get scammed.

I am currently in SC trying to move to STL and needed some help. These people made it seem like they were going to be working with me personally until I had a house to rent. Now I am out 85 dollars and no closer to finding a home.

I called a number off a newspaper listing thinking that I was going to speak to a property manager, but instead, I was connected to Rent Source. The representative introduced himself to me as "Pat", and from then on was exceptionally rude. He couldn't find the listing that I was talking about because of all the countless listings this company has posed in various newspapers, which was a red flag. Then he proceeded to ask me for personal information to better narrow down the criteria. Before going any further, I requested information on a service fee, which he stated was $90. I'm glad I read other reviews and avoided this SCAM. I can find the same apartment listings, that this company offers, on Craigslist or other rental sites, without paying almost one hundred dollars. And when I told him that I wasn't going to pay that kind of money for this "service", he then kindly told me "Please call us back when you're serious about not being homeless."

Real professional, Pat.

Rent Source does nothing to help you find an apartment except print you a long list of apartment listings. You may as well just look at Craigslist or Zillow. Also, many of the landlords do not return calls!

Rent Source is a scam. They offer no services. They do not offer any listings which aren't already available for free on Craigslist, Zillow, or HotPads. Please do not waste your money trying to go through them to find housing. If you need help with rental listings, call a local realtor. They typically will give listings for free.

STAY WAY FROM RENTSOURCE. SAVE THE MONEY AND DO YOUR OWN SEARCH.

I saw an advertisement for a house on Craigslist that seemed to be a owner of a property named Sara looking for a renter. The advertisement did not include details about the location of the property. I called the number in the ad and asked about the specific location of the Craigslist.

Sara was very vague about the property in the ad but tried to interest me in other properties Rentsource had in the area and advised me of the 90.00 charge. I questioned her to be sure that was not the owner of the property I was interested in. Sara dodged the question by advising me that Rentsource worked with many landlords and for 90.00 she could give me access to those properties.

I advised Sara that I did not need a company to contact landlords and that 90.00 was too high of a price to pay. Sara informed me that rentsource helps with application fees. At that time I knew it was a scam and told Sara I wasn't interested.

SCAMMERS!!! Their money back guarantee is a lie, all the apartments they have in their lists are all from craigslist or other sites, but they are already rented, were never up for rent, or in some cases never even existed. Please, please, please don't let them steal your money! Anybody who gives this place a good review either works there or has been paid to do so. STAY AWAY!!!

Due to a job promotion, I was ...

Due to a job promotion, I was relocated to the St. Louis Area in October 2012. Not knowing anything really about the area, other than the Arch and the Cardinals, I sought out professional advice in locating housing for my family. I am a single father of two girls, ages 15 and 12. We were staying in an extended stay hotel until we found a home. I am very picky. I wanted to ensure my family would be in a solid home, in a safe neighborhood, and my girls would be in a good school district.

Like everyone else, I searched Craigslist and realized there was so my listings to choose from, too many in fact. (If that make sense) I came across a home that had the amenities I actually liked. I called the number and spoke to a lovely woman at Rent Source who gave me the details about the house. She told me she had other homes similar, amenities wise, to the home I was looking at, and that I could come to her office or visit their website and view the homes.

I went to her office on Natural Bridge and within 10 minutes or so I had a listing of 14 homes to choose from, all exactly what I was looking for…3 Bedrooms, in North County, under $900.00. My daughters and I looked at all the properties in four days. We narrowed our options to just one of the homes and then chose to go to the Rent Source website and get an updated set of options to look at the next day. We had an additional 4 homes to look at. The following day, in about three hours, we had walked through the additional homes. What we found was we loved one of the homes that day and could really see ourselves living there for a long time. We negotiated our lease terms with a very cooperative landlord and started moving in two days later. That was almost three weeks ago. We have painted a few walls, moved our furniture in and really made this place our home.

I must say, I am not the type of person who takes the time to write a review of a business I use, lord knows with all shopping we do every month for groceries, household goods, clothes and so on I would spend every waking moment typing. However, I just wanted everyone to know that my experience with Rent Source on Natural Bridge was fantastic. I would highly recommend them to anyone seriously looking to make a good informed decision on a home for their family.
