The Overland Department of Public Works is responsible for a variety of activities, such as board of adjustment, code enforcement, issuance of permits, and planning and zoning. The department's additional responsibilities include residential and commercial inspections, street department operations as well as sanitary sewer lateral program. The City of Overland governs the public works department. The government serves the city through other departments, including city administrator, city clerk, municipal court, parks and recreation and police.
