About Mandarin House Mandarin House is a well-loved and respected Chinese restaurant located in St. Louis, MO. Since its opening in 1979, Mandarin House has hosted numerous high-profile clients in their 430-seat restaurant and banquet room. Their list of clients include Boeing, Monsanto Company, Anheuser Busch InBev and the local government of St. Louis City, County, as well as international guests and ambassadors visiting St. Louis. 1979 saw the first Chinese Ambassador to the US, Chai Zemin ( invited by Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville ), host a banquet at Mandarin House. Since then, our restaurant has hosted guests and dignitaries from China, Japan and South Korea, among others. In June of 2000, Food and Wine Magazine honored us as the only Chinese restaurant among the top 12 restaurants in the Midwest region. In 2005 Mandarin House was again honored in the Chinese Restaurant News as one of the Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in the US. We were again regarded in among the Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in 2007 and 2009! Mandarin House was also awarded the Best of Citysearch award in 2006 and 2007 with an amazing 9.6 rating! Mandarin House adheres to many Chinese traditions and is prepared to make any and all kinds of delicacies or festive banquets, all of which can follow the customs of traditional China, with proper host to make guests feel at home. Mandarin House has decor including a Chinese bridge, pavilions, and an elegant and generous atmosphere to express the Chinese culture and traditions.
