Part 2 The WORST experience I ...

Part 2 The WORST experience I ever had. So before leaving this time I ask ED about the final bill and he gives me a copy of what he adjusted and showed me the final cost. I wrote it on my paperwork. and he wrote it and circled it his paperwork folder. Another 3 weeks, yes 3 weeks had passed and we get a call this time from a guy named Kevin and he said the car was ready. Well it was again a Friday night so I met the wife there to look at the car. Finally they had for the most part fixed everything. Some stuff hood/fenders didn't line up correctly, but was informed this is normal when cars are repaired. And there was still two really bad spots of mottling in the paint on the passenger door. We told him that was all we could see that wasn't right. He said well I'm under instructions that you are to take your car we are done with it. I said it's not right, he said you have recourse call you insurance company we are done. My boss said we aren't going to pay for the rental anymore. I said well let me speak with your boss Jim, and he said he left early for the Cards game. At this point I just had to get my car and go so I said lets pay the bill and go. Well then Kevin gives me the total and it's different from the total ED had given me and I said what the deal. He said it was wrong, I said what do you mean it's wrong the acting shop manager at that time told me the final bill this work/time was all to complete the original job. the bill shouldn't have went up any. He said well ED messed up. I said well who found the issue and what was it with price. He said Jim found the issue and made the total. I said well get Jim on the phone I'm not paying a different price than I was given and was written done. I said let me see the work folder, and on it you could see where ED had wrote the final bill and it was now crossed out. He said I can't call him he's at the ball game. I said well I'm not paying a different bill until I talk to him about it. He said well you have to pay it and take your car we won't pay for the rental beyond today, and you have to pay if you want to take your car. You do have recourse, call you insurance company. So we paid it and left. This shop not only had my car for just over 3 months, but they did VERY poor work, and their customer service was just disgusting. Never take your car here especially if it is silver, grey or white as they can't shoot the paint without the metallic mottling on these colors. I still never got to speak with Jim from the very first call in all my visit he would never come talk to me. I'm not talking about the visits while he was out sick (the whole month of September) I'm talking about the other visits when he was there. Some shop manager, some business. Save yourself allot of trouble and don't use this shop unless its to wash your car. As i mentioned e-mail me direct if you would like to see proof of my claim with dates, photos, & bills.

Part 1 The WORST experience I ...

Part 1 The WORST experience I have ever had in my 42 years came with my 2011 Chevy Equinox needed repaired. First let me just say that I'm not writing this to smear the place this is all fact. ANYONE who would like to see before and after pictures as well as copies of invoices, can e-mail me directly I will be happy to share them with you. My e-mail is mebigt@hotmail.com. My whole ordeal started back in February when my car was hail damaged. I went to the local tent set up for my insurance company and was given a check for the damages. I started calling around to all the big shops looking for a shop that had an opening for my repairs. Everyone was pretty busy so I started calling local mom and pop shops and found one that had time and 35 years experience. I was telling a group of friends that I had found a shop finally and told him who it was. They all said a mom and pop shop would be a bad ideal. If I wanted my car back in the original shape I should take it to the dealer shop, they always do the best work and will make it as good as new. So I called Jim Butler Collision Center in south county and spoke to Jim the shop manager. I explained to him the situation and he said they still had some cars lined up but he would have room in a few weeks. Well needless to say I had a fender bender while waiting to drop it of for the hail repair, so I had to drop it off early due to it not being drivable. Here is when the problems start. The noticed that the original hail claim was wrote up under priced so they started working with the insurance company to get the original claim amended to which they did. Repairs began and after 5 weeks, yes I said 5 weeks I got a call that my car was ready. Well during this 5 weeks I did get all invoices from my insurance as well as the shop and while going over the invoices I noticed that some of the items they had billed for repair on hail damage (and were paid) was also paid by the insurance company on the collision damage invoice. So when I went on Friday to pick up my car I met with ED who was now acting as shop manager because Jim was out sick. I asked ED to look into this for me and we would square up on the final bill afterwards. I looked at the car and saw some issues but they were leaving for the day so he said take it home write the issues down and they would put me in a rental and fix the issues. Well driving home I noticed that the a/c didn't work and after getting home a list started. A list of 29 things from the a/c to the hood/fenders not lining up to some pretty bad paint mottling. Things that came while being worked on were a big scratch in the headliner and allot of what I would call VERY sub par work. On Monday I dropped it off with ED and showed him all the concerns he agreed with them and said he would get them fixed asap. He put me in a rental and I was on my way. Another 4 weeks, yes I said 4 weeks passed and ED called to say it was ready. I went to look at the car and they still hadn't got the fenders and the hood to line up as well as the significant paint mottling everywhere they had applied paint to the the car. I show him that this still isn't right he somewhat agrees and says the get it right.
