Concordia is Latin for concord or harmony. Concordia Publishing House is the publishing arm of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. It develops, produces, markets and distributes products and services that are faithful to the Scriptures of the Lutheran faith. Its products include bibles, books, bulletins, church supplies, magazines, bible study materials, teaching resources, offering envelopes and software. Its products are distributed directly from the company and from a variety of Christian bookstore outlets throughout the United States. Concordia Publishing House was founded in 1869 to preserve the German Lutheran heritage and to reach out to immigrant groups in the new land through various publications. The company is headquartered in St. Louis.
