The City Academy, founded in 1999, is a private, independent, nonparochial elementary school that serves students in kindergarten through grade six. Its curriculum includes language arts, social studies, math, science, character education, visual and performing arts, and physical health education. The academy also provides extended day enrichment and after-school child care programs. Additionally, the academy features a summer program. The City Academy has community partnerships with several local organizations, such as the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Babler State Park Association, Better Family Life and Black Repertory Theater. The academy provides financial aid to students. The City Academy is located in St. Louis.
